I got a phone call today regarding a job opening. First call after probably 6-8 months.

I didn't get many details but I heard I'd be working in shifts where I'd work from 14:00 - 22:00 in majority of the cases, while sometimes, sometimes I'd work overnight.

So seriously, when I add commute & stuff that's like 13:00 - 23:00 not be able to do anything. So I have a free morning when I'd sleep. What's the point of life then WTF

Those hours could be beneficial if it might help you avoid a particularly nasty commute.

It is and it isn't. I mean, we've got plenty of jobs we need to keep society running and improving. But I feel as if there's so much meaningless bullshit people 'have' to do. Surely in our society of the future we will strive towards fewer working hours.

Pretty much 99% of all our jobs are pointless in a greater social context.

Live for what with the extra 30 minutes? I think I'd literally live for weekends (if I even get both days off).

I found it so-so to change shifts weekly when I worked in the sales. And even then I felt gutted when working afternoon, as I came home at like 23:30 which made me go directly into bed.

And now it's just second shift aka 14:00 - 22:00? It feels so horrible even when thinking about it. I'll see what happens on the interview, I need more info about the job. But I believe salary would ~500e which is above standard wage here. Still, even such number wouldn't help me move into 'my' place and rent, to try to get on my own feet. Or it would help as it's kinda doable, but I'd have to survive and barely eat (and eat at my parents house), but it would also mean sticking with the job and not quitting in the near future.

I just wish things were normal. I really don't need much to stop complaining. But it seems impossible at this point.

Well, I think we are very inefficient. We spend time and resources on the wrong things. Billions go into marketing, into conning people into buying shit they don't need. And lots of people work such meaningless jobs.

I think I'd spend 90% of the time answering calls. It's not like it's a huge experience boost, especially cause I studied economics. But I do get your point.

Investing is not easy. It's not easy for wealthy, let alone me here.

I've been thinking about it many times. The quality investments would take a lot of money whether that's a production (I looked into fishponds, hazelnut, sponges, goat farm) or something else. From my reseach I came across many protitable jobs, but all require time (read: years) and tons of money. By tons I'm talking huge sums at least from my point of view, cause they'd all be 50-150k euro investments. If this jobs gives 500e/month it's impossible to save for anything serious. It's also quite impossible to take a loan too in the first 2 years, then it would be impossible to return it cause interest rates are way high, plus I'd have no income if I decide to quit and focus on the investment.

When it comes to small budget start-ups, I'm quite clueless, cause I see everything being shut down here.
