Thats why the unconditional basic income will come sooner or later.
That's what I always bring up in job interviews.

So, I dunno what happened. But three weeks in the Azores and Lisbon, and I got to use the Tuz without a hitch. I get back to the States and suddenly my password no longer worked. Dafuq.

Thanks to those who helped the reset. :D (Though I am sure you will regret it soon enough.)

Yeah. My third time in the Azores. Second in Lisbon.

Wine and food are cheap and, in general, a lot more flavor on the whole than here. Egg yolks are orange, unlike the sickly yellow dye jobs here. The butter is pretty amazing.

I think that speaks to culture. In the Azores, there were people who imported cars from America that had automatic transmissions -- manuals being the norm. Americans love their automatic transmissions ... how are you supposed to eat while you drive without them?

And when you eat, American culture treats the advancement of food quality as some scientific formula of packaging, preservatives, and engineered sensory effects. Gas station microwave burritos you can eat while driving are celebrated as an evolutionary advancement in cuisine. (Soylent, anyone?) In a place like the Azores, the best stuff is about simplicity without shortcuts.

It's a game, play it
As someone who occasionally interviews people, it really is, just to see who BS well enough at a certain stage. You have your basic requirements you can check off. But rest is just probing the social skills, motivation and stress tolerance to being poked a bit in work situations.

Ahh benvenuto geriatric G man. I was almost starting to think my hunch of you being a Völler alt all along was being confirmed since you dissappeared completely in same time Völler has been past weeks.

Greg just got serious.
:D No, that wasn't a Hillary-style impromptu statement. Just noting some of what I was thinking about while there.

Defenitely. Or better yet, buried alive with his cold incest grabby fudgy hands, his will dictated neo pharaoh burial rites along with sweaty Cersei Jaime reenactment.

I'm sorry but I don't see what's wrong with gas station burritos, hot dogs, /'d hot pockets. They're banging, cheap, and easy to eat. Not everyone has time to admire the color of their egg yolk in the morning.

There's plenty of organic food, small farms, etc where I am and I'm sure the same goes for many other places in the US. But why not appreciate both sides?

I wonder what these people are going to do though.

We are talking people who have high school degrees, often have college degrees too, but are not doing particularly skilled jobs and are not highly sought after. Mostly they've been doing some sort of administrative job, which is now going to disappear. They're also used to quite decent wages and a lot of them have not worked particularly hard in the past (compared to for example to blue collar jobs or medical staff) so they won't just accept any job.

Maybe this is when it starts.
Administrative jobs are usually college grads here. But there will always be labor and retail. You can only automate those to a certain extent before it's cheaper to just hire people.

That's just a no-no. There's no way you can judge that based on a 20 minute interview. I don't even care if I get this job or not, I'm not saying this because I think I sucked. It's just crazy how you're willing to make a whole picture based on a short-term interview while asking stupid question too. Dude, I want to work. I have a higher degree than asked, I have experience and I'm not a (social) retard. What more do you want, doing NASA tests? It's just :sergio: some jobs might justify the given rape but seeing how you need to pass 15 crap for a shitty job? It makes absolutely zero sense. And I can bet my ass that companies lost many amazing candidates because they ask for too much for no reason.

Maybe. But new technologies appear every day literally. New softwares are being developed each day. It wasn't a BS job, it was a job that was needed to be done manually while nowadays it's all getting automated. And I don't even think it's a great thing or something to be happy about. Maybe it is but only for directors/managers. But it's like people don't realize that machines are getting their job, they are becoming pretty much useless. I've seen some news the other day, they say somewhere in Asia they are getting Taxi cars without drivers. It's like the movies from 90s. Sure, it might sound fun, but it's like nobody realize million of pepole are gonna get fired. Majorty of those are old people who lost the track with the updated things, majority of those will have a trouble finding a job.
Pretend it's a date and you are trying to make a good impression on a girl. If things work out and you end up together, it's going to be different and you can fart around her all you want. But you gotta go through the dance first just to show you're better than all the other dudes creeping on her.
