Academy and professional research is gay anyway. That's not where the big bucks are, at least not in the same frecuency as working for a big corporation or owning your own business.

But that's just me. Money is all I care about.
In the previous post, i mentionned a women who's working on her PHD, because in the company that employed her, they dont accept non PDH for their R&D department

She has a MSC in biochemistry like i have, and works for Oleon. Quite a big corporation. She wanted to join their R&D but needed a PDH. So she found a way to kept beeing on their wagebill whilst doign her PHD on MEL's at antwerp university, with her reseach also sponsered by Oleon.
Quite a good fix. She had several of my classmates working their thesis on a part of her research.

But as you can see, big corporations can also demand a degree. And they pay top dollar

except, ironically, this would not happen in the states
America is obsessed with not offending anyone. Can't remember who (one of the great comedians from the old guard), but I read a piece a while back and he said that he couldn't do a show today like he did 20 years ago.

I find it ironic that America's law is more open to this, but the self-censorship in your media is strong. You don't see it that much in Europe.

a lot of it is white guilt, which would disappear soon since the majority will be latin, and latin people have no slavery or white privilege to deal with so they will dish it out, watch out black folks

I find it strange that this happens.

Plenty of stand up comedians in belgium are rather harsh, but with intent to humor.
Alex Agnew is known to be fiercy critiquing jews and doing a few humorious Hitler related personifications.
He does also mock actual racists at the same time.

This shitty modern world. How many times to i have to hear steroid jokes, or erectile disfunction jokes cause i'm in the gym alot. I should start to feel offended and make a tumblr post !

If it's true I'm disappointed. Especially because we usually don't mind much when it comes to humor. Case in point, Jeroom: https://www.google.com/search?q=jer...rDSsT0JJM:&usg=__1P5j8wI5jKRlkKcK6gj8IrdEN9A=

True. America is indeed obsessed with not offending people. Best stand up I've seen about this subject is Steve Hughes. He says it all really.
