Nah man, bullet point stories are easier to read, and I put it in green text like on 4chan. I also think that makes it easier to read.

There is also no chance I'm going to just walk away when somebody who is that far down the rabbit hole of depression asks me for help.

you cant help her, she needs professional help and prolly meds too. By being there, you let her focalize her problem in you and therefore shift all responsibility to you. Look at this way, you are taken hostage and the kidnapper has no intention of letting you go, do you want the negotiator to just give him whatever he demands or rather bargain with him on demands to eventually let you go?

I'm not going to get back with her. I'm also not going to abandon her, she matters far too much to me for that. What she wants is to get better. Right now she thinks that getting back with me is the only way for that to happen but she's wrong and she needs to keep ticking over until she sees that.

In other words I'm taking the negotiating route in your analogy as well as asking other people who aren't 2000km away to help her out if they are not already.

if she did attempt suicide before, friends or you are not competent enough to help imo needs at the very least a therapist first.

Dude, she needs professional help. And you playing surrogate is a lost cause. You can be there for her, but you can't help her one bit other than as a constant or support structure in her life.

I'd agree that professional would be ideal and it has certainly helped me a whole lot in my own experiences with depression. However the effect that a strong support network of friends can have shouldn't be underrated. She got out of a similar situation once before without professional help.

I know this might seem like I'm just trying to refute everything you say but thanks I'm really appreciating your input

Completely agree. I hope that I'm helping to assemble that support structure seeing as she seems unable to assemble it for herself.

Sorry, mang. You're in way over your head with this. You aren't going to be the one to help her sort out her mommy and daddy issues and everything that came after that. And the more you treat this as if it's manageable by laymen, the more her life is in danger.

That is some solid advice, thanks Swag.

By the way I feel like I should point out how much this fucking forum helped me out in one of my longest and toughest periods of depression. I actually became a real Juventus fan like I am now during the Del Neri season, and this forum gave me something to do/read when I couldn't sleep. Believe it or not during that shitty shitty season a Juventus forum really helped me out of depression

The transfer threads that summer, Alvin, Cronios, Hustini and everything else were a welcome circus and I laughed a hell of a lot. Thanks Tuz!

Dude, I may not have had the challenge of struggling with severe depression, but this forum has certainly pulled me out of a really sad funk on numerous occasions. :) (Unemployment, horrible Juve seasons, blah blah blah.)

Glad I'm not the only one.

It's one hell of a place this forum. Kind of like a soap opera at times with different characters who all react to each other differently. Even just reading it is really entertaining, although it was really weird being a lurker for so long and only making one or two posts. I was actually nervous posting my first time because I felt like I knew all of you and that you were some kind of celebrities

To be honest I'm surprised nobody suggested that Rakib could be Alvin.
@Hustini you used to get SO pissed off about the jinx thing  I remember that too.

It took me being a member "lurking" for almost 3 years before I made my first post. I was nervous then. Now I won't shut up. People like x trying to hold me back...can't stop won't stop.

Hust to live. Live to hust.
