January is the coldest month of the year and people usually walk around only when they have to.

Nightlife exists but I hope that you know it is one of the most expensive cities in the world. A beer would cost you around 8 € in the pub.

To be honest a pint in Manchester sets you back around £3.50 which I believe is around just over 6 euro's so it's not too big of a difference. What's eating out like? Expensive? I've read they have a real vibrant oriental scene for restaurants which you can usually grab good meal at a good price, my mate will be working whilst I'm out there so I'll be on my own alot so any info is appreciated so I can plan in advance.

Run into a rich vein of golfing form in the last couple of weeks:

Last Sunday - Part of a winning team in charity tournament
Saturday - Shot 72 (+2) to finish third in club competition
Sunday - Won quarter-final match in club matchplay tournament
Today - Shot 68 (-1)

Score today could have been better as I had three birdies in my first five holes, but didn't hole enough putts on the back nine.
