I always love it when I see people (who are generally new to the area) here on the first cold, sunny day of winter wandering around woefully underdressed for the conditions.

I laugh at them from below my seven layers of clothing.
That's San Francisco too. Tourists come here thinking we're "California", as if we're some sunny suburb of LA. Then they learn that LA is as far from here as Vermont is from Ohio and that beachfront property here is relatively cheap because the Alaskan currents freeze everyone's asses off save for the sharks and seals.

The SF tourist sweatshirt vendors make a killing on all the fools who come off the plane in shorts and flip-flops.

Btw, you'll have to explain Hume's definition of the "bodily appetite for generation". I don't quite follow him and what he means by it... even here:

innate desire to reproduce, which is a selfish objectifying feeling, like he says sex is the object to be attained, but the the agent is not necessary since the thinking of sex itself can be the trigger. But obviously that alone cant be the basis of a healthy relationship or even passion, the necessary ingredient is beauty. A true understanding of beauty is the secret to a happy life.

I watch alot of barely average tv series aslong as the premise (supernatural or otherwise) is remotely interesting, but man first two episodes were so lamely done. Its just season finale, and not series finale then? Hehe, good for them.

OK, thanks. Now I follow that. What I don't then follow is how that innate desire to reproduce equates with hurling insults or sexual violence. Neither seem to be a logical or even emotional means to that ends. Maybe for sexual violence that's pregnancy through rape, but that's a pretty bad propagation strategy on many levels.

Exactly. :D My friend who recently came to visit me (she's an Italian living in Spain), the only shirts she brought with her were tank tops & one light jacket. She was in for a surprise.
