yes hip hop, some metal like metallica, megadeth, slayer, testament etc, chicago house, detroit techno but there is so much utter garbage in the 80s that has aged horribly and is truly painful to listen to.

I'm disappointed you didn't mention Iron Maiden in that list. Especially when their best music was released between 80-88(Except Killers).

You don't need to copy the music of 60s to not sound like shit. Tell where is today's creativity in music and art? I mean do you really expect the songs of today last more then then a year? I mean they are designed to be replaced by a new single every single month, nothing with lasting value at all, that's not true artist should be doing.

And yeah, I know there are good music out there, but you have to have your hands full of flashlights to find anything of value today.

the music I highlighted generally just sounds overly dated and it's kind of hard to describe... I guess today's pop music kind of reminds me of 80s pop. there is a difference between music that sounds dated and music that sounds of its era
