what grand scheme of things? dogs are pets, the only reason they even exist is to keep humans company or help with certain chores.
I'm with X on this one. In the grand scheme of things, i.e. nature, the death of a dog is no more important or unimportant than the death of a human. It's just our attachment/perceptions of things that create these rules of worth.

how about a dog saves humans? and why are babies and kids "worth" more than adults? all matters of perception i'm afraid. But heres a good argument for you, which was inspired by the latest events here in the US, when is it "ok" to break rules/laws

Played some decent golf this evening.
Wiped the floor with the guy who came second in the Club Championship last year. :notbad:

Reading the sad story of Portsmouth's demise as they are relegated to npower leahue 2 with -10pt penalty.

Portsmouth 2009----crouch,diarra,cole,muntari,boateng,guthrie
portsmouth 2013-----4th division

Oh how time flies and waits for none!!!!
What's sad about it?

They couldn't afford the players they had and now they've got their comeuppance.

If you want sad, try thinking of the small businesses who will be in trouble because of Portsmouth not paying their debts.
