So I just called our hotel in Paris to confirm our check in tonight. Apparently I've booked us into a 4 star hotel at a total price of just short of 1000 euro, as opposed to the 2 star hotel I found at a total price just short of 300 euro. Booking while on the can :sergio: . I tried calling and cancelling the booking, but the guy in the reception doesn't speak a word of English. What a start to the trip :lol2:

My atm card was part of a nationwide skimming scam last week. My coworker just told me that she just heard on the news that two of the people involved were caught and they live about 5 minutes away from me.

At the time it was happening I was a little worried. I had no access to my accounts, my card didn't work and neither did internet banking. And when I called the bank they told me they were doing maintenance work on the system so they couldn't help me either. They replaced my card and had me verify transactions on my account the next day however, and I got a new account number as well so it's all good.

Enjoy. And unlike a friend of mine who didn't figure this out until the next day, when you see the charge for a bottle of 300 Euro champagne and it's not that great, you weren't paying for quality champagne.

I'm just sayin'...

What's the harm? It won't kill ya!:D
I know a guy whose mobile phone number was once accidentally posted as a typo in an S&M advert located in the back pages of a San Francisco free weekly. While hilarious hearing his stories after the fact, I wouldn't exactly want to trade places. (The trickiest part for him was first trying to find out why these random pervs were calling him -- before they hung up on him after he asked.)
