In either way, it's better to be flaming about something which is right - so I'd rather stand on that side of the line :) . I'm not a flaming atheist, Jasper Stanhope is the one you're lookin for.
The "I'm righter than you" deck measuring contest is epic fail in any social context.

yeah its like waking up to christmas at the Swag household
Hey -- just because Christmas morning not everyone wears nothing but Christmas stockings over their decks is no reason to make fun of my family traditions. ("Deck The Halls" takes on a special meaning you otherwise don't get.)

I think that's a recurring theme with punk movements..
Funny I'm reading all this straightedge stuff while drinking coffee at my kitchen table with a copy of Glen E Friedman's "Keep Your Eyes Open" photog opus to Fugazi on it... :coffee:

This is the first I've heard of this, how long has it been around?
The Hardcore/Straight Edge. It offshot the punk movement in the late 1980s.

I don't know what it's considered today - I'm pretty sure it started off as a hardcore punk (to be precise :p ) movement. All those subgenres are getting lame though.
Yeah, that was in the 1980s. Then punk got popish in the 90's and Hardcore split. There is even a difference in the sound these days. You would be correct in calling it punk, but those really "into" it would specify.

Btw, let it be said that Guy Picciotto is one of the coolest performer dudes in music. I was always more of a Rites of Spring guy than a Minor Threat guy myself.

f'ing morons! no interest in working with burke and andy?
They wanted to hire both of us, I had good recommendations, but she has a Masters and more experience. They want to throw some consulting work my way, so we'll see. I told them it would depend on my availability.

I interviewed at the place where B and A work last week. I had two interviews, both times the interviewers were late, but I did well. They were impressed with my knowledge of stats, but they can't hire until next quarter unless they promote someone or someone terminates.

There are times when I visualize myself punching an interviewer in the face and yelling "GIMME DA MONEY".:D

I'm not too worried about it. Times are tough right now, so worst case scenario I get a minimum wage job and take the GRE/LSAT.

Marked.

and i will be heading home today, ill down a slice of chicago style in your honor and memory.
Say hello to all my homies by da Lake!

Finally got my rejection call for the job I interviewed for a couple weeks ago. That's a relief.
Crap. Well, I suppose that can happen when you pull a Cleveland Steamer on the interviewer's desk. That said, hang in there. It's a longer slog, and you just have to keep at it. With time, patience, and persistence, it will come around for you.
