Don't be ridiculous. Just because you're disenchanted with your own lot doesn't mean that nobody else is allowed to find charm there, and many do, myself included. It's nothing to bowl you over like the sight of the Himalayas, but the simple beauty of the countryside is definitely to be appreciated. As for the rest of your qualms, you're obviously quick to boredom.

Im not saying you can't try to find charm, i'm saying there isn't any.

I live in the middle of the kent countryside (garden of england etc.), i've been all over the shot hiking etc. its not that great, its just fields and hills.

There are huge problems, language being the most important one. As i said, conversational Italian i might learn fast but studying medicine in Italian i am not sure about.
Then there is the huge money issue.

i'm pretty sure you r in a dilemma at the moment but here is my 2 cents on the topic. when i started uni i had friends who had finished there high school diploma in arabic and i kid you not they barely knew how to put a sentence together in english yet woody they went at it like a fat kid at a candy shop!! its hard HELL YES!! is it do-able?? the answer is def yes. i've spent nights studying with them during our finals and i saw how they study and the way they struggle but it amazed me how they never threw the towel, and with time they got even better. they used there english text book ( and you know pharmacy is perhaps the closest to medicine in terms of content ) an english arabic dictionary and a gadget that acts as a dictionary but has medical terminology added to it and that how they got thru the course bro. yes we all want perfect answers on that exam sheet and in perfect grammar but dont be surprised that yr prof will take that into consideration.

this is my 2 cents and i think a chance like this comes knocking once in a life time and dont think of it as just a masters degree but think more along the lines this will add to you personally.

indeed the country side is an amazing sight. i also agree in every nation there r good aspects with in its culture and history and not so much aspects. i'm not english and i've been there just once as a 7 year old but i studied intensely world war 2 in great depth in high school and i'm actually a great fan of how the normal people across europe experienced the war and i can assure u the british people during that period specially the women are sth to admire in every way.

Nah the Polish countryside wasn't that great tbh, app the north and east are nice.

I don't get tired of nature and I hate living in a city compared the countryside...but its just fields, go to NZ - which has an identical culture to the uk - and say that we have decent countryside. You live in canada for gods sake, I find this really bizarre that you guys are bigging up our countryside, really really bizarre...i've not met anyone before that rates the British countryside highly.

I don't get tired of nature and I hate living in a city compared the countryside...but its just fields, go to NZ - which has an identical culture to the uk - and say that we have decent countryside. You live in canada for gods sake, I find this really bizarre that you guys are bigging up our countryside, really really bizarre...i've not met anyone before that rates the British countryside highly.

If I could go there, I would, but in its absence I appreciate what I do have. The British countryside is different from the Canadian countryside, and they're both beautiful in their own ways. The Peak District and the Lake District are gorgeous!

And just because A is more impressive than B does not mean that B loses all value completely.

And I wouldn't say I'm easily impressed, but I don't see the point in constantly moaning about things.

but if you have a choice of A and B and you know A>B you'd chose A everytime....thats my point, and i still find this a bit weird that people are impressed by our countryside - the main reason brits travel is to go and see shit because we have nothing.

Truth be told I've never been to Ireland. But I go to the Irish Pub in Copenhagen every st. patty's day and it's always full of Irish people. I like their humor and the way they drink, I've learned so much. They're the Murinho's of drinking.

There is more then people

to be honest I still don't get why Badass and Jasper hate england so much. In Holland a lot of people are very annoying specially with their fapping about amsterdam all the time. Or they dumbass following everything the media is saying. just like with all the missing mountains and Holland is so full and everywhere are a lot of cars, people, buildings. But still I don't hate holland at all. Simple because it is my home country forever.

I can enjoy travelling to every country but nothings feels better then coming back to Holland and just be home.

But it's not a clear-cut thing, is what I am trying to say. You are making the sweeping generalisation that everything in Britain is boring, whereas I am trying to say that some people enjoy it. But just because A exists, doesn't mean B is COMPLETELY shit, it just means that it is not as good, but still has merits that can be enjoyed. Some people want the charm of Britain, and while they would equally enjoy seeing NZ, can't afford to.
