Having the worst day ever. Was cooking and then spontaneously the entire fucking glass frame of the stove shattered. I was surprised as fuck so I turned around and knocked the table which hit my cup of coffee which then spilled all over my computer. Now my entire computer is fucked, and I've lost my entire music library (Like 600+ giga) plus all the music I made in the last three years.
Ah man that sucks dick I would shoot myself if that happened but lucky all my music is backed up.

Your HDD should still be able to be salvaged.

So around 30 years ago my grandfather gave up this strip of land to the govt which they said was necessary for road widening. The fucking govt never paid up and instead the amount of money my grandad was supposed to recieve was put in a bank as fixed deposit. I had no idea something like this existed, neither did my father or uncles.

This morning i get a call from my brother's lawyer who found those papers in court and he said we can withdraw the money if we want. The land we gave up is now among the top properties in our hometown. According to the lawyer there are two ways in which i'll get the money.

1. The original amount and 30 years of interest it gained

and the second option which i think i should try to go for

2. Screw the fixed deposit and give some bribes here and there and get the money according to today's evaluation of the land.

Heading to court with a cousin in a couple of hours :xfinger:

Of course you have to go with the 2nd option. Today's land evaluation is a lot more than the 30years of interest. I think you also have the right to hire a private company to evaluate your land. If the government offers you an evaluation from their side you shouldn't accept.

Yep. But here's the thing,if i go with the second option it means i have to stay here for a while. The Indian Judicial system moves very very slow, probably the slowest in the world. It is easy to bribe but still slow. If i go with the first option i can get the money within a month but if we go with the second option it takes 8 months to a year.
I dont like my brother's lawyer and i might need to find a new one. Probably a firm which deals with stuff like this.

Not excatly, i would have been if my father and his generation did not piss it all away :depressed What's left is given on rent since the days of my grandfather on the SAME fucking agreement. Which means the shop that should be providing me with 30'000 in rent is actually on 200 INR rent per fucking month. You know how these things work in india.
