:D

So Martin, I assume your Italian is perfect by now, but how are the Dutch lessons coming along?
My italian is perfectly uneven. Listening/reading is good, writing is a bit weak, speaking is very weak. Gonna try to practice the latter in the coming months.

Dutch is.. only just started on it tbh. Understand the basic sentence structure, only just learning the basic vocab. Once I get that going I'll try to read a book, worked well for italian.

You know, I've always had (& still have) the same problems with Italian.
When it comes to reading or listening it's fine (or at least good enough for me), but writing or speaking is close to impossible. Especially since it's been a few months since I last tried it, sadly there's not much use for Italian in my day to day life.

As for Dutch: ik ben er zeker van dat dit wel in orde komt, aangezien je het waarschijnlijk dagelijks hoort in Nederland :D

New word I learned recently: weer. :D Zero points for making it easy to guess.

Yeah, it's a bit of a pain doing something like... oh, I dunno, calling customer service at Tele2. I actually called them several times and couldn't figure out wtf was wrong with my order, had to get a Dutch friend to call for me and straighten them out. :D

I can imagine that you'd have some difficulties calling customer service & the likes, for whatever company. It's usually difficult enough to get your point across if you both speak the same language, let alone if you don't.

As for "weer": which meaning are you referring to? Weather or (once) again?

Btw if you need to practice your Italian writing I recommend www.lang-8.com. I can even give you corrections myself. :D
Thanks, but no thanks. I really can't be bothered with writing (perfect) Italian :D

Exactly how many people is Mesut?
Learn to read, simpleton. I was talking about the band Curry referred to.

In an attempt to answer your question though: I don't know how many people Mesut is/are. But judging by the bags, both under & above his eyes, I'm guessing it's at least 3 :shifty:

I recently learned Kuyt is actually pronounced as "Kawt". Words cannot describe the disappointment I felt.
You learned wrong, I'm afraid. :D

They're both correct, I think the second sounds a bit more like what I described.

But you said "kawt". I would pronounce that in English as "caught".
I was actually pondering whether to write "Kaut", but gave up because I thought it sounded like "caught". :p

Oh well, either way, I always liked reading it simply as "Kuyt".

Dutch names sound really weird, I had the wrong idea about Kluivert for years.
Yup Dutch names are near impossible to pronounce if you don't know the language. I was with a Dutch friend and I tried to pronounce all the NT names I think I only got Sniejder correct.
