No, seriously I did.

At least I gave reasons, minus the personal jabs.
I'm just teasing.

You're honestly the first person I meet who doesn't like Montreal. Maybe you just had bad time there.

Well, the reason a lot go is for their red light district. There are more lax laws where i live in comparison, so it wasn't that good.

    Drinks/liquor was expensive as fuck.

1 litre of Crown Royal (bottled in Canada) was 60 CD, and here it's 30 USD.

    The exchange rate was 1.25:1

Actually, I've heard Vancouver described as such many more times, to both of you.

Montreal is definitely a fantastic city. I grew up in Kingston, which is about 3 hours away, and used to go to Montreal on road trips (also to hit all the strip clubs etc., as a youngster on hockey tournaments, etc). Legal age for drinking is 18, a year younger then the rest of Canada... lots of good memories. Pretty excellent night life, lots of culture, tons of live music. Quebec city is also very cool (especially if you want to see some old school Canadian architecture - obviously very european stylings). Montreal is tons of fun if you know what you're doing, with lots of beautiful women. The only real minus are the winters, but if you're down for some snow and you like to ski/snowboard (and have some transportation) there are some pretty solid hills nearby (tremblant, Saint Ann, and a smattering of pretty good smaller hills). Also has some of the cheapest university tuition in Canada - actually, I think the province of Quebec in general has the cheapest tuition.

    that my friend is vancouver
I've lived in Vancouver for the past few years, and I absolutely love it. Truly a world class city, amazing incorporation of green spaces, Mountain view from almost anywhere in the city, right on the pacific ocean, nice mild weather. Absolutely amazing seafood, and TONS of excellent restaurants (I know less about the dining in Montreal, but I'm sure there's obviously plenty). Vancouver is a very beautiful, modern city. Very little snow (when it does snow a few inches though, it shuts everything down - Van drivers are the worst in Canada, and they've never heard of snow tires) and quite frankly, the finest summers in all of Canada (with the exception of maybe some areas in the gulf) - and the girls are as fit as anywhere I've been in this country. Whistler is about an hour away - world class mountains for snow sports, and in the summer they have some INTENSE mountain biking, white water rafting, ziplining etc. If you like outdoor activities, Vancouver is close to a TON of great destinations. I would say the nightlife is better in Montreal, but if you like being outside, Vancouver is where it's at. It does rain quite a bit between November and April, but it's usually not too heavy. If you buy some proper rain gear, you can basically be physically active outside all year round. If anyone is ever out this way, I suggest you venture into the Gulf Islands - it's ridiculously nice.

I'm with Dru, I prefer Vancouver, but they're both great cities for different reasons. I bet you'd really enjoy living in Montreal, Elvin.

I should add that the general cost of living in Vancouver is definitely higher than it is in Montreal. This city is expensive as fuck to live in, which obviously is a minus.
