Well, I wouldn't call it totally unorthodox. Our central bank only started to raise interest rates when the public outrage started to get high, but they've been promoting "quiet" inflationary policies in times of contraction and expansion for decades. Turkey is just a joke. But hey, they apparently like blondes, so maybe not all bad.
come on man, letting the inflation almost reach 90% isn't any textbook monetary policy lol

they should have intervened much, much earlier. erdogan is just a populist so monetary restriction and the consequent recession before elections is out of the question. then shit got out of hand

They're claiming it isn't a hack, but those are good guesses. Then again, some of these government systems are so antiquated with a shit ton of technical debt that nothing really surprises me anymore. Even Deloitte can't even handle some of these problems lol.
Yeah but I'm sure there are also tons of safe fail controls for everything to just stop working without interference makes it even worse.

How much of that is Veronique negotiating Rabiot's new salary?

You don't need a hack when infrastructure is crumbling on its own left and right though.

I couldn't believe how bad the highway conditions were in California when I visited last month. I thought I was in suburban Mogadishu.
