Why do people have pets? I never got the point? What does it provide?

Asking purely out of curiosity...
a dog will give you unconditional love as long as you feed him, walk him and play with him, only a person witha pet can describe the feeling of satisfaction you get from having a pet

oh and a puppy is a great way of meeting women:pimp:

dont worry my XBox is away,i just have to re-staple the wires and tidy them up so he can't get access to them!

aye Diesel was huge and the protection he offered meant that nobody would dare break into my house(not that anyone would be foolish enough anyway) but that was the least of my worries,i like Dobermans because they are intelligent and playful (well, one of us has to have brains)

Well have two mastiffs(boerboel) & they are damn smart. When it rains they jump on the door handle & let themselves in.I take them for a walk atleast once a day for an hour or so but they continously try to get out.The problem with the oldest one(Ginger-mym sisters named her.:D) is that I got her when she was about a year old.She was raised on a farm with ample space & she had a meerkat as a friend.

nice, see the thing with a big dog is ensuring you are able to walk them properly. Diesel was walked 5-6 times a day even when i was working and i had him out for huge walks when i was off.
the problem with intelligent dogs is that they get bored rather easily if left to their own devices for too long, though if you have clear boundaries it is not so much of a problem

How the fuck is that unconditional, mayn?

Not to mention you have to clean up the crap after them.
I'm never getting a pet (especially a big dog). It's about the most pain in the ass thing one can do.

Thats the thing I dont have enough time to walk them & yes I knows its selfish & irresponsible but I dont trust anybody with them. They have to be trained as these two are real bullies. They are real saint when they are with me but they have terrirized enough dog walkers & two dog parlours dont want them near their premises.

Im planning on getting a quad bike & I can actually ride on my mates farm & get the dogs to run like mad.
