Emotional reactions unfortunately don't respond to logic, I'm afraid. You can tell them that the mainstream media reports on body counts all the time that have irrelevance to most people's lives other than to make them feel they are always at threat. But you'll lose that argument.

I actually sent her a segment of doug stanhope talking about fear in the media and she's chilled out now. Apparently if I say something it holds no credence, but if a stand up comic says it then it makes sense.

, cooking to my mind isn't a skill but an extension of personality and creativity. It requires practice but the more you work at it the better you are at expressing yourself through the ingredients you have.

I'm watching the last episode of blackadder, it saddens me greatly. WW1 & WW2 were horrific, but it appears humanity has learnt little of the lessons we could have learnt from both and what followed, which could have been avoided. It saddens me greatly.
