He’s nothing like Khedira. Khedira in his prime early on a Madrid was a top class DM. McKennie could never play that position. Awful passing and vision, and isn’t particularly good at the defensive aspect of the game.

You look at him there and he lets the ball get by casually...what is he doing there protecting the middle? He needs to be in front of the player with the ball to make that run at least more difficult.
Was it instruction by Allegri to "absorb" pressure? Idk because his ass needs to. be pressing way more there lol

Yeah it is sorry..but like I said maybe the loosening of the pressing is by instruction of Allegri rather than a player fault because I've seen this same scenario with our other players around our 18.
In general though McKenie is alot better at finding open spaces when going forward than he is at protecting open spaces when defending.

There’s constantly a gaping hole for the opponent to attack where one would expect Mckennie to be. It’s baffling that a player who makes such intelligent runs into space when attacking is so awful positionally when we’re defending. Can’t have that in the midfield.
