German school of GKs is totally different and so easy to recognize one. And just look at their generations, pure epic stuff ever since Köpke.

Their are basically the only ones that know how to stop shots with their feet. And they throw themselves uniquely and in the best position to minimize the chance to concede.
wow you really love German keepers. :D

Their school was always top notch :agree: . From Maier to Schumacher to Kahn and many in between.

    That too.

And the depth that everyone talked about seems so extremely thin just like every season. Then we go and improve our depth because it wasn't so deep but it remains as it is, strange no?

Pereyra is a waste of money, time and space.
At least lets give him time for the rest of the season.... but yeah he seems to be just an ok player who we bought for not a good price.

    37

    31 - 34 - 31 - 34

    22 - 36 - 28

    31

    30 - 31

Our possible starting line-up (age) beginning of next season with the signing of Sneijder.

I can't be the only one worried about this?

Zaza will never be good enough. At least Morata has some potential.
The age factor will be totally worrysome. This could be disastrous

We are not even getting Sneijder.Galata are well known as very tough negotiators concerning transfer price, when they buy also when they sell.Just remember what they do in order to lower Melo's price. It'a was a few months soap opera.
    Yup.
Not that i want him at 1 years old.... and Gala will try to rip us off as they always do.
    ignore business with Gala.

Allegri himself said how Sneijder is good enough and how he's what Juve needs right now. So I guess he's our priority at the moment.

Makes me think why Coman doesn't get his chance when we're so desperate to get something new upfront.

Oh right, :gsol: he's too young and lacks experience :gsol: same experience that he's getting by sitting on the bench.
Coman and Morata not being used is a crime. I dont care if they still have time...PLAY them now!!!.

Is there any talk of price yet? I mean, I would take him for free. You can do worse than to find players to help win a 4th straight scudetto.

I don't want him but he could probably still do damage in this league. He has skills from outside the box so when we have possession against parked buses in a slow game he can still provide something.

The issue with Sneijder, besides the obvious that he's old and past it, is that he was never the creative player who could beat his man and play with pace which is exactly what this team has been looking for for years now.

Marotta needs to stop these signings and just finally invest in a real AM.

Well ya he's a CAM. There are few CAMs out there, let alone ones that would be attainable, that can beat their man. Even 50M CAMs like Mata, Ozil and Fabregas can rarely play with pace.

It's obvious we'd be targeting Sneijder for Serie A since he's CL tied. In Serie A I think he'd be comfortable with the pace.

But obviously I agree with you that he's not what we need to move forward. Honestly, the 4-3-1-2 is not that great in general and CAMs are not as influential as they once were.

If we are intent on finding reserves from Value Village for January, I'd rather they be wingers.

Just don't get involved. Sneijder was shit towards the end at Inter and has aged and regressed even more in Gala. Keep him away.

Marotta has been looking towards old stars who are way past their peak. Anelka, Sneijder, Evra, interest in Drogba and many others..

There must be something wrong when you're 28yo and you move to Galata.
Well it means you can't keep up athletically. There is no doubting his shooting or passing so that's all it can be.

That's why he would probably be fine in Serie A. He's not worth paying money for but I'm sure he won't be the reason we lose games. He'd probably contribute against these small teams.

I think people are overreacting when it comes to player ages, we do have some players that are getting older, but it's not like we have to replace all of them this summer. Also beside Pirlo we didn't sign any 30yr old, except some shitty loans as a stop gap solutions. We have at least two more seasons to replace them, and even though we don't have money, I'm confident that we will not end up like Milan, especially because we are more financially stable than they were, and because we don't have fatass contracts with our players like they did. Just look at the contract they had with Flamini and others.

Oh, and I'm against signing Snejider

And now he can? You make it sound like he was 34yo before he moved to Turkey.

But he was already in Serie A before they sold him.
There is a stark contract in pace between Europe and Italy. Pirlo can barely have a second on the ball in Europe but in Italy he can do whatever he wants still.

Let's not pretend that Sneijder was not effective in Serie A with Inter. He was. He was almost Golden Ball material at one point ffs. The year before he was frozen out by Inter's ridiculous management he had 4 goals and 5 assists in 16 games. Inter never sold him because he stopped producing in Serie A. They sold him because they're retarded and asked him to take a pay cut after negotiating a deal in good faith and he told them to fuck off.

He still scored 12 for Gala last year. He still gets into the Dutch national team.

    He can definitely still shoot.

This was only a couple months ago:

Now I think to myself would I rather Pereyra in those positions or Sneijder. Easy choice. I'm not saying he's a savior or even worth money. I'm just saying he will probably be fine domestically, might even help us. People are acting like he's a corpse. Only 30 years old and skills are very much in tact.

I still don't want him. I prefer wingers. But I'm not going to pretend like he wouldn't put holes through the net against these teams that give us 70% possession right outside their box.

I can't believe I am actually going to say this, but if I had to choose, and again, if I HAD to choose, I would prefer Diamanti over Sneijder. At least Diamanti could be a warm body for the CL.

    And he's left footed.

I had to stop and look at this before I decided to hit the "post quick reply" button, because I can't believe I actually am saying this. My eyes got blurry

And that he'll be way cheaper and and who'll also know his position in the squad (i.e squad/rotation player at best) whereas Sneijder would come on a big bloated wage and would probably ruin the plan of moving to a winger based formation in the upcoming season(s).

Though this more sounds like Allegri's signing than Marotta's signing. We're gonna continue to fail in Europe if we keep playing with these archaic formations and relying on our oldies to bail us out.

It just gives me the impression,we're too afraid to make a change because we probably feel we may lose our stranglehold of Serie A which i disagree with.
