Iran player ticks the ball with his toe, argentine defender completely misses it and kicks his legs.

100% penalty

No two ways about it. Evidently Argentine defender didn't touch the ball, had intention to, but missed it, and went straight for his legs.

WTF how can you say he missed the ball? The hell?
Belgian analyst team yesterday was unanimous about it. Penalty, but difficult to see depending from what angle you look at it.

people really want to see messi fail, at any cost
He sort off is.

If Messi was just another top forward, then we'd now all be saying "see that lil kid who is decisive twice for argentina despite not showing all game"

However, if you want to show the world that your every succes wasent mostly thanks to Xavi and Iniesta, that you are "the best player in the world" no matter who's around you, then this so far has showed the opposite.

Messi cant carry argentina. He's invisible and yet he's telling the coach how to play. He had 0 impact on the game and argentina played very bad in both games, and got away extremely lucky.

He has show twice now, that he can suddenly decide a game, but he cannot carry it. And because of that, he isnt nearly the best player in the world.

IIRC, Iran didn't get a corner kick, which implies that the ref didn't see anything at all. Since no corner kick, the ref "saw" that the Iranian player kicked the ball last and Zabaleta didn't touch it. If he didn't see Zabaleta's touch, then he should have given a penalty, but he didn't give this either, so this implies that he didn't even see that Zabaleta took the guy down.

This isn't a penalty, though. Zabaleta clearly goes for the ball and ends up touching it, but not kicking it as he wanted to, due to the opponent touching it first with his toe.

Argentina are such a boring side. I watched both their matches and fell asleep. Had it not been for that tax evading garden gnome cunt, then they'd probably be looking at 2 points from two games. Instead, they have accumulated 6 points playing some ultra boring footie.

I hope they come up against some team that rapes them hard, preferably France with Pogba.

Germany look very suspect defensively, and Ghana probably deserved the victory based on the balance of play and quality at the disposal of both teams. Ghana, if they are eliminated, will be the most exciting team to exit the World Cup at such an early stage.

That whole Argentina group is full of average/mediocre sides. Easily the worst group with the most boring matches, closely followed by the Belgium group.

messi has undeniable talent, hes probably the most talented player in the world. He lacks in leadership skills and mental strength, so as far as carry a team day in and day out i agree with you hes not the guy, but very few people can. It's all about about your definition for best player in the world is, talent, mental attributes, intangibles...

Despite having such a massive team at barcelona and argentina, messi was poor this season compared to previous ones

If it stays like that, the influence of Xavi cannot even be denied by Messi's greatest fans

"best player in the world" is not "biggest potential talent". Its about who's the best, right now.

Robben is clearly better then Messi at the moment for example

robben is having a better patch of form, it doesnt mean hes better, lets not forget robben is the reason spain are champions.

Iran player got it to first, but Zabaleta still got a piece of it.

Spot on. He managed to get those goals this world cup when it was a low pressure group game, but when it counted in the 2010 WC final with those 1 on 1's against Casillas, he choked hard, real hard.

Iran had some good chances in the second half. I don't see why a really poor team like them defending against a top attacking team like Argentina is a surprise. It nearly worked for them.
Problem is this is a WC. Such a gulf between teams should not exist. Format should change.
