Of course they did it to piss off Schweini, Rab.
You're not serious? :D

They were doing the train celebration all over the stadium. They didn't really know Scweinsteiger was gonna be there to give an interview and it's not like, in all that joy, they gathered and decided to piss him off by passing by him.

LOL. Locally here people are giving Braafheid the blame. And still call it offside.

This Final should've been so much better if it was Brazil - Spain.

Fuck.

I'm not even going to go through all the mistakes the ref made, both ways, as nobody will take a 'biased view' seriously anyway, but what an utter idiot.

I think we did ok during the game, causing them plenty of trouble in their build up play, usually keeping them away from our goal. It's a given Spain has more possession, but I still think we did alright. They had their 100% chances, as did we, so it could've gone either way.

It's just a bit of a pain in the ass he overlooks that blatant corner at the end which allows Spain to score but a minute later. Even though everybody saw it, it's usually a somewhat harmless mistake, a goal kick instead of a corner, but down to 10 that really hurt us. Very unfortunate there.

Maybe, Gian. It sure is a tempting thought. Watching Brazil and this Spain in a world cup final.

Anyway, it's not the "hatred" for the Spaniards but the "hatred" for Holland(Not really hatred, more like harsh words) that surprise me here.

If you look realistically at this world cup from round 1 till the final whistle yesterday, you will realize that aside from the part of yesterday's match when the Dutch coach replaced De Jong with vdV, the Spanish weren't more impressive than the Dutch.

Let me remind you that Holland made the final with 6-0-0, that, before the final and the 3-rd place match, they scored 12 goals (Spain scored 7) and were only behind the Germans who scored 13 and that with the exception of the opening minutes against Brazil, they were always the better team.

Spain had the quality, but also the luck that follows the winners in such tournaments. An offside goal got them through Portugal, Cardozo missed a penalty etc. No complains there, it's part of the game, just like Casillas who saved the penalty is part of the team. But for the Dutch things went really smoothly. They were, imo, the better, or the smarter team, in yesterday's 90 minutes too and if Robben scored that chance and Holland won, there would have been a general agreement that the Dutch deserved to win the final. They weren't outplayed at all before the extra time. They were actually the more dangerous team. They neutralized Spain and only allowed them chances from set pieces.

I don't think it was Van Marwijk's idea either as he was very angry with Van Bommel at one point. Probably just Van Bommel and De Jong who couldn't control themselves.

I understand why the Dutch talk about that corner kick, but you could have been down to 9 players after half an hour too and you would have been slaughtered.

I don't claim Brazil played amazing football, but from what I've seen they play football unlike the dutch and partly the espanyolos. Of course the Dutch deserved it to be in the final, but every time they lose grip of the match they play like it's Mortal Kombat. Portugal 2006 match, Brazil 1st half match, Spain match. There wouldn't be any justice if The Netherlands would've won this match. It's no surprise they ended at the bottom of the fair play list. I would've preferred a Brazil - Spain match because I have strong believe, these sides would play actual football. But I feel like this final was just a lose for Football.

But than you can't really judge their presentation as Denmark, Japan and Cameroon wouldn't be any form of danger for them. Slovakia neither. Brazil, still don't know what happened that match in the second half, all I know that the Surinam Selecao boys around me were going nuts. And Uruguay was also extremely lucky IMO as that deflected Snijder ball where Van Persie (who was offside) did actually involved in the attack. So it's also a lot of luck from the dutch side, when it came to the draw of the poule, Slovakia fucking up Italy and ending 2nd, offside goal imo.

The coach just failed with Van Persie, Huntelaar should've gotten a chance.
