to be honest i dont think we need totti to win the world cup, i'm glad he is back but del piero played more then good enough when totti was injured. del piero gilla and toni made germany look stupid. I think del piero should play more in the middle because he likes playing that CF role and not way out to the left. I dont think lippi is using del piero to the best of his abilities right now, he is almost shoving him way out on the wing, del piero is a great dripper and can move the ball fast and it is very effective. Lippi needs del piero closer to the middle of the pitch and oddo or zaccardo and zambo or grosso can run down the wings to help them. and cammo and de rossi are more the capable to handle the load down the wings.
from the past 2 friendly match italy isnt struggling down the wings, grosso set up a goal down the wing. it is up the middle were they need to be faster and make better plays.

i think the best way italy can play is like they used to play in the euro 2000.
4-4-2 like the one capello uses now with totti having a total liberty to move like zlatan in juve and toni in the area like trez
with this tactic italy was in the final of euro 2000.
to be honest i think a del piero in form isnt capable to bring the team to the final but a totti in form is more than capable to do it.

capello's formation is a good formation but i dont know if lippi will use it............. but the last time i checked germany was one of the favourites to win the tourny at like 5/2 or something like that, and i no it is a friendly and i know germany didnt play well but part of germany not playing well was italy, germany was lucky to only lose 4-1. italy could of easily won 6-1 with the chances they had. You could tell that Germany wanted to win that game but what it comes down to is italy dominated the midfield and if they can do that in the world cup they will win, they have the guys up front and on defence. if italy played an in form del piero with toni and gilla they is no doubt in my mind they would have a chance to win.
