Iaquinta's performance has led me to believe that he should be starting alongside Amauri against Palermo, with Giovinco and Camoranesi on the wings. Put Nedved and Del Piero on the bench and watch how hungry they'll be come the game against Napoli.
Absolutely agreed.

Good Work from Iaquinta yesterday. Bad result, but he just worked his ass of for the team. I saw a very good side of Vincenzo yesterday and i think he should be awarded a start on sunday alongside Amauri. Good job Iaquinta, keep up the good work and bring us all three points on sunday!

Forza Iaqunita!

Iaquinta adds to Juve woes
Saturday 4 October, 2008
Vincenzo Iaquinta is out of the game with Palermo and international duty, as Juventus enter the weekend beset by in-fighting and injuries.

The striker has been struggling with a right thigh problem since scoring a brace in the 2-2 Champions League draw with BATE Borisov.

He was set to start on Sunday and receive a call-up to the Azzurri for the World Cup qualifiers against Bulgaria and Montenegro, but has been ruled out.

Sebastian Giovinco and Giorgio Chiellini are also uncertain to feature, the Atomic Ant suffering from conjunctivitis, so Pavel Nedved should start.

The atmosphere at Juventus is said to be tense ahead of the Palermo match, as newspapers are full of claims Claudio Ranieri could be fired if he doesn’t beat the Rosanero.

Tuttosport splashed the front page this morning with suggestions there is a “locker-room pact” sparked by Gianluigi Buffon to keep the calm.

Following three straight draws against Catania, Sampdoria and BATE, the Bianconeri old guard are reportedly furious with Ranieri and want a change of management – particularly Alessandro Del Piero.

Buffon rallied the ‘senators’ of the squad to stick together until the crisis has passed, then begin the debate in earnest over what the future holds.
