it is somewhat sad that Vincenzo had been reduced to a 4th choice striker as he has done very well this season and the manner he conducted himself in the team was very good. I don't think he will accept the role that Palla is currently occupying as he has Azzurri ambitions.

I think if he will be sold it won't be to bring mancini in here ( or maybe thats what i hope). I think with neddy's new contract its done for the left side of midfield with him and Gio. Its going to be either cash or Aquilani for Iaquinta.
:agree: Iaquinta showed us all that he is more than capable being the first change striker at the very least and with Amauri's arrival i kinda feel sorry for him, I imagine Vincenzo himself won't be too happy

i really like Iq, he is good. he can play on the wing too, why don't ranieri use him on the wing sometime?
I know he has played on the wing but although he's been able to play their he's never impressed playing that position and his skills that make him a dangerous player tends to suggest he belongs up front only and not on the wings & Ranieri sees this

4-3-3 suits Iaquinta alot. Its a pitty with did use this formation alot. A midfield consisting of Zanetti, Sissoko and Camoranesi along side an attacking trio of Del Piero, Trezeguet and Iaquinta.

Juventus reject striker offer

Juventus are understood to have turned down a bid from Wolfsburg for Vincenzo Iaquinta, but Roma remain interested in the striker.
Wolfsburg are fast becoming one of the most ambitious teams in the Bundesliga and have already made a double raid on Serie A, signing Palermo's defensive duo Cristian Zaccardo and Andrea Barzagli. But Juve has rejected the undisclosed bid for Italian international Iaquinta, who only signed for the Turin club from Udinese last summer but saw his first-team chances limited due to the good form of David Trezeguet and Alessandro Del Piero.
Iaquinta made just nine starts in Serie A all campaign and, following the arrival of Amauri from Palermo, there has been mounting talk he will move this summer, with Roma believed to be lining up an offer of their own

Iaquinta key to Hamsik
Sunday 29 June, 2008

Juventus chiefs confirm they intend to secure “a goalkeeper and midfielder” before Friday as Vincenzo Iaquinta is offered in exchange for Marek Hamsik.

“We are looking for a quality midfielder and a goalkeeper. We don’t want to take the fans for a ride and will keep our feet on the ground, so those are the only arrivals,” general manager Jean Claude Blanc told Tuttosport.

“Our objective is to have the squad completed before the start of pre-season training on July 4. This is the approach we took last year and it proved smart, as it is important to ensure the group gels quickly.

“The next seven or eight days will be very important to finish off the final negotiations. Naturally if some talks required a little extra, I wouldn’t cut them short just because the training camp is opening.”

The prime candidate to act as reserve for Gianluigi Buffon is Monaco goalkeeper Flavio Roma, who has already said he is open to the idea.

One of the potential transfers is Dejan Stankovic from Inter, but the Juve fans have staged a bitter campaign of protest to dissuade the club from completing this move.

“It is only right that the fans express their opinion, but the club must make its decisions on a professional basis taking into account technical requirements, costs and other situations,” noted Blanc.

Nonetheless, the protests have been heard and the Bianconeri are looking towards alternative objectives. Names include Roma youngster Alberto Aquilani and Napoli starlet Hamsik.

The Bianconeri’s interest in Slovakian midfielder Hamsik is nothing new, but up until now Napoli have been unwilling to part with him.

The key to changing their tune is the introduction of World Cup winning striker Iaquinta as part of the deal.

Juve are reportedly ready to release Iaquinta in exchange for 50 per cent of Hamsik’s contract, to be completed in 2009 after spending another season at Napoli, or £11m cash.

Claudio Ranieri is not short on midfield options anyway, as youth products Sebastian Giovinco, Claudio Marchisio and Paolo De Ceglie have returned from their loan spells.

“We believe a great deal in our young players and those three will join a squad made of legendary champions,” added President Giovanni Cobolli Gigli.

“We must work on what we have already built in the past two seasons. The results proved the basis for a solid side is there.”

L'avranno capito i dirigenti bianconeri?

It's getting ridicolous...now the fans(vecchiasignora.com)are protesting against a possible Iaquinta sale.

It's heart-warming every now and then like in the Giovinco case and reasonable like in the Stankovic case but now it's getting out of hand.

Besides that,I don't want to lose Iaquinta neither.

It can become very tricky for the board once they have been seen to bow to the demands of the fans...
Indeed, but they are forced to do that, their first priority is to bring the fans back and play some appeasing/spectacular football, i think this explains the abundance of quality forwards and the lack of decent defenders...
I dont think that our managers dare to upset the fans anymore, they need them more than any other time and if the cant bring them titles, they will at least, bring them spectacle and they will try to please them...

I think thats what we had in mind when we bought Amauri and it would only make sense if we keep Iaquinta!

Somehow, i think that Iaquinta wont leave us. The serious on his departure are not confirmed and it seems that we want to use him as a bargain tool only, someone to attract interest of very special players, like Aquilani and Hamsik, players that seem to be impossible targets.
That means that our managers rate Iaquinta and they would only sacrifice him for smth big!
Fortunately or unfortunately, we cant lure that "smth big"...

So he stays! Cant figure the Milito rumors though, i bet they are relative...

The Milito rumour was just his agent pimping him out to clubs in general, just using Juve's name to start a buzz. We are the last time to want a striker.

And I dont see it as the fans pressuring the board or demanding it, but them just showing their appriciation for Iaquinta. And he really deserves to be showered with love, because he in attitude and work ethic, this guy really represents us in a great way. 4 strikers of that quality might be overkill, but it would be truly perfect if he stayed with us.

Yeah, Iaquinta would be perfect if we played with three strikers. Amauri,Trez and DP would probably be 1st choise, but Iaquinta can play in any of their roles.

I see a very depressing season for Iaquinta though, if we play with two strikers mostly. Barring any season-ending injuries for any of the other forwards that is.
