Iaquinta wants Juventus future
By Football Italia staff

Veteran striker Vincenzo Iaquinta wants to be a part of the Juventus squad for the 2012-13 campaign.

The Italian international didn’t play a single minute for the Old Lady in 2011-12 and was sent out on loan to Cesena in January.

“I hope that I’ll be a part of pre-season at Juventus because I want to convince boss Antonio Conte to believe in me,” he told Tuttosport.

“I certainly don’t want next season to be a sabbatical and I don’t want to find myself in the same situation that Amauri was in this term.”

Iaquinta has had an injury plagued last 24 months and he only managed one goal in seven games for Cesena.

The 32-year-old is contracted to the Turin giants until June 2013.

Amauri decided to stay at Juventus in the last year of his contract, but didn’t feature and was forced to train with the youth team. He left the club in January.

Iaquinta, a 2006 World Cup winner, joined Juve in 2007 after seven years with Udinese.

He will have a sabbatical this way or the other.
Even if he comes back and he is accepted (which btw sounds to me more implausible than him winning the lottery) he would be our 4th/5th CF./Top player, Matri/Quag, Youngster, my grandfather ( ) and then Iaquinta/
If he had something like a decent season last year (as Giovinco did) - yeah - then he could say stuff like that. But at this point, and if he has any sense of honor or respect towards himself mostly, he would quitely ask the team to find him a club where he could feel useful again. I am sure Marotta wouldn't mind to pay some part of his salary so we can offload him, but if he is waiting to be fully paid for doing nothing - training with the youth team and cleaning their lockers is what awaits him in Turin.
