Diego wouLD be my preferance, he is much more energetic and strong that VDV, and I think Giovinco could play on the left and leave the central midfield to Diego.
exactly, actually i wanted to post the same

my problem with VDV is, that he is NOT a playmaker, nor a good assist man. I admit he would be a good addition, but he is not the type of player we need IMO.
he is more a forward as a midfielder.

VDV would be nice, but having watched him for Hamburg, Ranieri might have a point... he really wouldn't be suited to playing midfield in Italy. He's definitely a forward-type.

Seeing as the money is there, I'd go for Diego, he's about as offensive midfield as we're gonna get, and he's half Italian, no?

The funny thing about these formations are that they're both mouth-watering and very possible. All it takes is like 30 million euros (I know I make it sound trivial) to sign Diego and that's about it. That's a set-up that could probably be valued at well over 150 million euros come two seasons...that is to say if everyone develops the way they should.

The fact that van der Vaart keeps calling on Juventus makes me lean towards him right now, but the more I see his highlights in comparison to Diego's, the more I want Diego.

this is a little off topic but seeing everyones lineup has everyone given up on Nocerino??? Marchisio instead of him? I think he will he a very effective Dm in another year or so. And he has experience while Marchisio has far less expectations and players around him make him shine.

i think marchisio will be great for us, his surging runs and passes look extremely promising and i ma proud that he has come through the juventus ranks.
