do you know how many goals VDV already has this season ? i'd love a player at juve contributing like that from the injury table
Stats 2007: 49 games and 27 goals.

This sesason: 15 goals in 22 games.

Total carreer average: 0.44 goals per game

Dutch national side: 50 games and 12 goals.

Not bad for someone who's only 24, and has a life in the hospitals behind him, when you believe some posters here.

Diego is not that expensive, probable - there are not many clubs after him; only Real follows him, I believe - but the most topclubs have serious doubts if he's good enough fot them. Why? He failed at Porto, he often dissapeare in the big games and most of the Bremen players failed at another club. Bremen bought Diego for 3, 5 m. pound. Don't forget that Bremen was already one of the best clubs in Germany - they won the German championship - before he came there. Having said that, the guy is still only 22 and has, without any doubt, talent.

I just don't think that he's ready yet to make the difference at a higher level in a team that is not build to get the best out of his offensive players.Bremen always get the best out of his offensive players: Sanago(HSV-sub) was crap for Hamburg but a hero in Bremen, Rosenberg didn't do much for Ajax(Ajax-sub) but is doing well in Bremen etc, Jensen came from Heerenveen, Diego was a sub at Porto etc, etc.

Diego wasnt given a fair chance by Fernandez at the time..he was quite impressive in the few times he did play...but he didnt fit in Fernandez's system..so people have the impression he failed.

Is VDV capable of delivering those killer passes like Diego?
If he does... How often he does it?
Scoring is a good thing but he is a midfielder afterall and it is more important that he delivers assists the goal thing is just a bonus
I rather us to have a midfielder who gives 15 assists from 22 games than 15 goals from 22 games

Diego has 10 goals if I am not mistaken right now and also has the highest assists in the German League. Diego has an excellent eye when making passes.

Both Diego and van der Vaart have 9 goals and they are Bundesliga topscorers for now, together with Klose and Toni.

VDV scored 9 goals and made 3 assists in 14 matches in Bundesliga
He scored 2 goals and made 4 assists in 5 matches in UEFA
And he scored 2 goals in 2 matches in German Cup.
Overall this season VDV scored 13 goals and made 7 assists in 21 matches

Diego scored 9 goals and made 7 assists in 17 matches in Bundesliga
He scored 1 goal and made 1 assist in 5 matches in CL
He made 1 assist in German cup in 2 matches
Overall Diego scored 10 goals and made 9 assists in 24 matches

Well yeah I only heard that he had 10 goals but didn't know that they were including his goal from the CL. But either way both of these players (VDV & Diego) are both great players and would certainly help us. I personally prefer Diego tho but wouldn't mind having VDV if he was cheaper.
