It's a bit more than that. I think it is a privilege to own a gun and not everyone is fit to own a gun. Gun ownership should be regulated pretty harshly, it's not like we're talking about bubble gum here. To call for it's complete elimination is not thinking things through.
Hey, we can have senators in office who, as recently convicted felons, can't even vote for themselves in a general election. And yet they can still vote in the Senate in a representative government, representing thousands of citizens.

Anything is possible.

makes you look like a racist

so if i get this straight, there are two able-bodied, black, young males who are named jerome and tyrone who are hanging around your streets, possibly selling drugs to children, waiting for obama to win so that they never have to work again.
they never worked to begin with :p

Obama wants to give them even more money

and btw- I'm not a racist, I hate everybody !! :D

I have been over a great portion of the US, and I must say that in terms of numbers, WHITEYS are much higher in terms of worthless persons.
that's cause the blackies are in jail

So take away all those guns so only the criminals have them.....
makes no sense

The thing is, most of the criminals get those weapons from people with clean records, mostly by stealing them.
they can easily get them at gun shows in states that have lax gun laws (especially down south), not just by stealing them

we need national gun laws, so that every state has the same rules

If you take away every citizen's firearms, the criminals still have weapons, and they aren't going to go away. The weapons will be there 100 years from now, they are not going to evaporate.
preach brother, preach !!

The gun culture is absolutely pathetic in my view, but it's strange that we can cross the border and go into Canada, a nation with essentially the same gun laws as we do, and yet see so much less gun violence per capita.
let me take you to toronto, and you tell me that gun violence doesnt exist. I couldnt imagine being held up, and not being able to protect myself

should we ban knives next, because they can do the same damage as a gun, and knives never jam up or run out of bullets ??

perfect post Aaron !!

see if you can find a video of Edwards doing the Ed-Word on The Colbert Report. He made so much fun of himself there, i would have given him my vote without even thinking.

that was right after he gave up his bid to become president and both hilary and obama were trying to get his support

Well, here it is, folks.

RAND Lobbies Pentagon: Start War To Save U.S. Economy

According to reports out of top Chinese mainstream news outlets, the RAND Corporation recently presented a shocking proposal to the Pentagon in which it lobbied for a war to be started with a major foreign power in an attempt to stimulate the American economy and prevent a recession.

A fierce debate has now ensued in China about who that foreign power may be, with China itself as well as Russia and even Japan suspected to be the targets of aggression.

The reports cite French media news sources as having uncovered the proposal, in which RAND suggested that the $700 billion dollars that has been earmarked to bailout Wall Street and failing banks instead be used to finance a new war which would in turn re-invigorate the flagging stock markets.

The RAND Corporation is a notoriously powerful NGO with deep ties to the U.S. military-industrial complex as well as interlocking connections with the Ford, Rockefeller, and Carnegie foundations.”

I got Barack Obama. Apparently we disagree on some minor issues, but all in all it's a scary thought that I might like the next president of the USA.

What really annoys me is that, for some reason, a lot of states can't seem to install decent voting systems. I don't believe it's accidental to be honest. I mean, humanity has done far more difficult things than that and it's pretty damn easy to make sure everything goes well. That said I don't think voting fraud will be accepted by the American public this time around.

White Supremacists for Obama!

I know, I know, I run a blog called “Political Irony” but sometimes something comes along that is so ironic that it boggles even my jaded mind. Esquire Magazine has a fascinating report on the political views of white supremacists, racists, and other hate-mongers and finds that many of them are supporting Obama for the presidency! Here are some of their views:

Rocky Suhayda, chairman of the American Nazi Party:

White people are faced with either a negro or a total nutter who happens to have a pale face. Personally I’d prefer the negro. National Socialists are not mindless haters. Here, I see a white man, who is almost dead, who declares he wants to fight endless wars around the globe to make the world safe for Judeo-capitalist exploitation, who supports the invasion of America by illegals–basically a continuation of the last eight years of Emperor Bush. Then, we have a black man, who loves his own kind, belongs to a Black-Nationalist religion, is married to a black women–when usually negroes who have 'made it’ immediately land a white spouse as a kind of prize — that’s the kind of negro that I can respect.

Tom Metzger, director of White Aryan Resistance and former Grand Dragon of the Ku Klux Klan:

The corporations are running things now, so it’s not going to make much difference who’s in there, but McCain would be much worse. He’s a warmonger. He’s a scary, scary person–more dangerous than Bush.

Erich Gliebe, chairman of the National Alliance and former pro boxer with the nickname “The Aryan Barbarian”:

Obama might be a better candidate for our cause because he’s racially conscious. … I give Obama credit, he seems to have stuck to his guns as far as pulling the troops out of Iraq. He’s a very intelligent man, an excellent speaker and has charisma. John McCain offers none of that. Perhaps the best thing for the white race is to have a black president. My only problem with Obama is perhaps he’s not black enough.

Hehehehe. Can you blame them? I mean they see their last ditch campaigns of Bill Clinton making hail mary brilliant speech of what Obama is all about (and seeing a moving 30 min ad of what Obama stands for), and then they tune in own McCain and see he is....

STILL harping on about Joe the plumber (because he has NOTHING to say, he found out only lying about Obama is in his speeches got old, and he ran out of keywords to rile up the sheep of his crowd), saying he is round here, where are you Joe? Only too look like a total retard when he founds out, OH NO, Joe isnt there! (they over booked Joe to another gig! :D) Then comes the masterstroker, after looking a dumbstruck mumbling...he declares..."Uhhh, well you all are Joe the plumbers to me!"

I mean, I cant get hold of the clips I saw this in, but MAN was that the most clear contrast between the candidates...

I love the idea of the white supremacist who isn't really about race anymore. "Nah, our crude beginnings were centered on race, but of course today we have come a long way, White is not a racial distinction, it's a philosophical position." :D

Btw it's true what you said Osman (I almost typed Obama there :D ), McCain grabbed onto Joe Plumber to dumb down the discourse yet again. Palin wasn't enough, we need to lower the conversation even more to reach those people out there who are dying to vote for us just as soon as we speak in their words.

It's so interesting to me that a guy who self proclaimed makes $250k/year becomes a mouth pieces against taxes, posing to be the common man. How many people in America make that much in a year?

I found the links I were referring to, here is the Bill Clinton speech for Obama. I am no sucker for political BS, but IMO this speech is a election GOLD MINE for the last spurts of it, when its time to bring out ze big guns, and this big gun made a slam dunk speech.

And to drastically show the difference in the camp, THIS is what McCain can muster out in his last spurt...:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jCkG...cer.com/forum/showthread.php?t=826281&page=23

"You are all Joe the Plumbers..."

Compare that with the above with gems like: "We need a president who wants to understand and who CAN understand!"

I mean seriously, the different tactics of Joe the Plumber and Bill Clinton couldnt be funnier

The onslaught of last-ditch attempts by Republican family members has finally reached my Email inbox. The scare tactics and socialism fears are, of course, the main ploy to garner votes. Indeed, even to family members.

"Think well of how you will vote tomorrow. By voting for a socialistic
and inexperienced community organizer you will help sow the seeds of the
downfall of this country into the welfare state where the distribution
of wealth (including yours) will take place. Vote wisely."
