The house is decided on popular vote?
yes, but it has nothing to do with the popular vote in the presidential election - each state has a certain number of house representatives, proportionate to that state's overall population, and each of them is elected from a congressional district within the state. Basically, it's the popular vote within a particular district that decides the house representative for that district i.e. these are sort of "local" elections for every district within a given state.

Fucking hell, I hope it's over now. I can't take it anymore, 50% of the media time in Denmark is about the Amurkan elections and 50% about things that actually concern our country.

I've never understood the hype about Obama. I can see why Democrat (Americans) would prefer him to be the President, but people in Europe are crazy about Obama. Why?

not sure if serious?

A majority of european countries can relate much more to the policies, values and beliefs of the Democratic Party, and Obama, than they can to Romney and GOP, which by the way, is a party in need of some serious restructuring. They are behind the times. Just relying on wealthy, old white guys simply isn't gonna cut it anymore. Romney ran for president with the agenda of offering tax cuts to the rich and upping military spending, among other things that is bound to make you unpopular in this day and age (especially in the social-democratic countries in Europe, of which there are alot). Your question was about Europe. I don't know if you have any knowledge about european tax policies, but policies like those offered by GOP's far right don't sit well with the vast majority of Europe. It never has, and it never will.

Add to that the fact that Obama is one of the most charismatic politicans in history.

Not to mention that Romney is, if you judge by most European standards, extreme right wing. While that does get you a few supporters in certain corners, it's obviously not going to be the popular opinion.

What events actually concern Denmark? I can't see anything that newsworthy coming from there. I wonder what the front pages of the newspapers usually say. "After long winding battle with police, Mrs.Aadge's cat was finally convinced to go to the veterinarian."

Romney turned out to be quite moderate for the most part. The whole gay thing is gonna hold them back however. They need to get with the times as a party.

.
As in any country, there are plenty of relevant news that need to be covered. Especially in a country like Denmark where integration of immigrants and rising unemployment are real issues. It's relevant to us, unlike the Amurkan election farce.

I think it has more to do, with most people not understanding the big differences between politics here and over there. It certainly feels like that in Denmark.

Well, Sandy was also the biggest story here.
