Lazio have seen their Calciopoli punishment go from Serie B to the top flight minus three points, but still aren’t satisfied.
“We are partially satisfied,” said lawyer Giammichele Gentile. “Obviously we could have had more, but have already received quite a bit.”

The referee involved in the Calciopoli scandal admitted that the Nerazzurri were the team he sided with when he was a kid.
Calciopoli is reserving more twists than an Agatha Christie's novel as in his latest interview, Massimo De Santis revealed that he always sided with Inter.
"I sided with Inter when I was a kid, but it was an Inter of a certain type, which used to win. The strong teams have always won on the pitch."
For this reason he was disappointed by Massimo Moratti's attitude towards him.
"I said it in a strong way, I was disappointed because I thought that I had a fair and balanced rapport with Moratti and Facchetti.

Fiorentina will not appeal to the civil courts against their Calciopoli punishments, confirmed Viola President Andrea Della Valle.
The club was hoping for a substantial discount on its 19-point penalty handed out by the Federal Court in July, but was only granted a four-point reduction by the CONI Court of Arbitration last week, fuelling speculation that the Viola would appeal to the TAR civil court.
“We will not go to TAR,” stated Della Valle in a Press conference on Friday. “This was not an easy decision for us, we thought about it carefully as you all know very well.
“We are convinced that the treatment reserved to us was not fair, but we have decided that we will appeal to the TAR only as individual officials, not as a club.
“We are considering the alternative of presenting our appeal to the Court of Arbitration for Sport, it is an option and we will discuss it with our lawyers,” concluded Della Valle.
Fiorentina had reaffirmed their complete innocence, having “never committed any sporting fraud” and they reacted furiously to CONI’s decisions last week.
CONI reduced the penalties of Juventus and Lazio, handing back eight points to both, whereas Milan’s appeal failed, leaving the Rossoneri with an eight-point handicap.

Cantamessa denies conspiracy
Milan lawyer Leandro Cantamessa cannot explain why certain decisions are going against the Rossoneri, but he has denied talk of a conspiracy.
The Diavoli were defeated 2-0 by Atalanta on Sunday, dropping 17 points behind top two Inter and Palermo.
Coach Carlo Ancelotti blasted the referee, blaming the loss mainly on poor decisions by Tiziano Pieri.
“We do not like the word conspiracy, but there are three different factors that are creating growing unease.
“There are the referees’ decisions, the arbitration discounts and the agreement with the FIGC, that was then denied,” said Cantamessa to the television programme Controcampo.
“First of all, refs are making mistakes that cannot be justified in any way and cannot be denied,” he stated, referring to the penalty that was denied to Milan for a foul on Daniele Bonera.
“As to CONI’s latest verdicts, I don’t understand the criteria used to decide the discounts.
“A reduction for everyone was not mandatory, but our position was less serious than that of the other clubs – we were the only ones where there was no director general involved.
“We had to take part in the Champions League preliminaries, which has already caused several injuries, seeing as we were forced to review all our training schedules to prepare.

Contro una delle grandi promesse del calcio italiano, Corrado Grabbi, stella delle giovanili della Juventus, capocannoniere in serie B con la Ternana, Luciano Moggi formulerà "minacce con toni perentori e arroganti". Di fatto, gli interruppe la carriera. Ecco l'interrogatorio del calciatore: "Le vere ragioni della mia cessione dalla Juventus suppongo siano dovute ai pessimi rapporti che ho sempre avuto con Luciano Moggi... L'ultimo giorno del calciomercato Beppe Galli mi chiamò dall'albergo a Milano e mi disse di raggiungerlo, c'era un interesse su di me da parte del Prato di Toccafondi, ma io dissi di no: mi offrivano una cifra di 80 milioni l'anno inferiore ai 120 che mi diede un mese dopo il Modena. Al mio rifiuto Moggi mi cacciò fuori dal box Juventus al calciomercato di Milano dicendomi che avrei potuto giocare nel giardino di casa mia... The highly-rated official will take charge of the Lazio-Ascoli tie after recently being handed the Week 10 Serie B meeting between Triestina and Brescia.
Paparesta was caught up in the match-fixing probe after he was allegedly locked in his changing room after the 2004-05 Reggina-Juventus clash by former Bianconeri director general Luciano Moggi.
The Bari-born man in black failed to report the incident and was subsequently banned for eight months by the Italian Referees’ Association [AIA].
However, Paparesta recently won his appeal against the AIA sentence and was handed back his whistle by the Federal Court on October 4.
He has since then spent time working on his fitness and has now been given the green light to resume his top-flight career at the Olimpico.
Paparesta, once tipped by many to become the new Pierluigi Collina, hasn't worked in the First Division since Milan’s 3-2 win at Parma on May 7, 2005.

Former refereeing designator Paolo Bergamo claims many more clubs should’ve been punished in the Calciopoli scandal – including Inter.
“Someone picked the wiretap recordings they wanted released and threw away others that didn’t contribute to their final aims,” he told newspaper 'QN’.
The scandal erupted in May when leaked telephone conversations were printed in the Press showing officials from several sides urging 'protection’ from refereeing errors or protesting about mistakes.
“Inter were the ones who complained more than anyone. They suspected everything, as there were a lot of referees they didn’t want assigned to their games, while the draws didn’t please them. Juventus and Milan scared them.”
The Nerazzurri were handed the 2005-06 Scudetto title after the trial, which saw Juve demoted to Serie B and Milan, Fiorentina, Lazio and Reggina docked points.
Yet Bergamo – whose phone conversations were at the centre of the scandal – insists there was a precise intent to damage some clubs more than others.
“How come in the trial there were only some of the conversations and not others? I hope the investigation outside the football justice system can go more in depth and clarify. I doubt only ex-referee Massimo De Santis and I were spied on.”
Bound to cause further controversy, former refereeing designator Bergamo pointed the finger at recently deceased Inter President Giacinto Facchetti.
“I hate to say it because of our friendship since the 1960s and his recent passing, but Facchetti called me more than anyone and Inter complained the most. He was always unhappy and I understood his irritation, as Inter struggled to win. Roma also rang up. They didn’t want some referees and were much warmer to others. It was a superstition issue with them.”
Ex-Juventus director general Luciano Moggi’s phone calls were not only published in the Press, but even released on radio stations in some cases ahead of the trial.
“I’ve known Luciano for over 30 years. I am still honoured to be his friend and, if he made mistakes, he’ll answer to them. He mentioned a few referees when we were setting up the designations, but Moggi wasn’t the one deciding, it was the draw.”

“Someone picked the wiretap recordings they wanted released and threw away others that didn’t contribute to their final aims,” he told newspaper 'QN’.
The scandal erupted in May when leaked telephone conversations were printed in the Press showing officials from several sides urging 'protection’ from refereeing errors or protesting about mistakes.
“Inter were the ones who complained more than anyone. They suspected everything, as there were a lot of referees they didn’t want assigned to their games, while the draws didn’t please them. Juventus and Milan scared them.”
The Nerazzurri were handed the 2005-06 Scudetto title after the trial, which saw Juve demoted to Serie B and Milan, Fiorentina, Lazio and Reggina docked points.
Yet Bergamo – whose phone conversations were at the centre of the scandal – insists there was a precise intent to damage some clubs more than others.
“How come in the trial there were only some of the conversations and not others? I hope the investigation outside the football justice system can go more in depth and clarify. I doubt only ex-referee Massimo De Santis and I were spied on.”
Bound to cause further controversy, former refereeing designator Bergamo pointed the finger at recently deceased Inter President Giacinto Facchetti.
“I hate to say it because of our friendship since the 1960s and his recent passing, but Facchetti called me more than anyone and Inter complained the most. He was always unhappy and I understood his irritation, as Inter struggled to win. Roma also rang up. They didn’t want some referees and were much warmer to others. It was a superstition issue with them.”
Ex-Juventus director general Luciano Moggi’s phone calls were not only published in the Press, but even released on radio stations in some cases ahead of the trial.
“I’ve known Luciano for over 30 years. I am still honoured to be his friend and, if he made mistakes, he’ll answer to them. He mentioned a few referees when we were setting up the designations, but Moggi wasn’t the one deciding, it was the draw.”
Bergamo also slammed the figures in charge of the Calciopoli trial – former FIGC Commissioner Guido Rossi, Cesare Ruperto and Saverio Borrelli.
“These three made some important mistakes. They entered a world they didn’t know, one that had rapports, friendships, teasing and ways of communicating that go round without ever breaking the barrier of fair play between those who work in this sport. I ask Borrelli for a public confrontation about this whole issue.”

The Udine prosecution office is on the verge of closing its investigation and will now pass on their findings to the Italian Football Federation, where chief investigator Francesco Saverio Borrelli and his staff will decide on how to proceed.
The inquiry was based on bets allegedly made by players between 1998 and 2005 which totalled close to £7m, the ANSA news agency reported on Tuesday.

Soprattutto per chi come Luciano Moggi ha sempre negato il coinvolgimento del figlio nella trattativa per portare in bianconero il francese dall’Arsenal.
I RAPPORTI CON LA ROMA Davanti ai pm Palamara e Palaia, Giraudo è chiamato a far chiarezza sul cambiamento dei rapporti con la Roma e su eventuali pressioni esercitate perché fosse allontanato dalla società giallorossa Franco Baldini: «Il cambiamento del rapporto – racconta l’ex ad bianconero – è da ravvisare nel fatto che dopo la malattia di Franco Sensi indubbiamente cambiò la politica societaria dell’A.S.Roma che divenne più aziendalista. La figlia Rosella, infatti, subentrata nell’amministrazione della società aveva assunto una linea improntata alla pacatezza e al dialogo ed attenta alla gestione economica della società, abbandonando le battaglie politiche che prima della malattia avevano visto protagonista il padre. Tale atteggiamento comportò quindi un nuovo modus vivendi sia tra la Roma e la Juventus e più in generale tra la Roma e le altre grandi squadre tra cui Milan, Inter e Lazio».
IL PRANZO IN CAMPIDOGLIO Giraudo poi racconta il famoso incontro in Campidoglio, negando di aver chiesto la testa di Baldini e tirando fuori un misterioso consulente di mercato: «Ci fu un pranzo (e non un caffé dunque, ndr) nel quale venne definitivamente sancita la pace tra le due società, stabilendo anche l’organizzazione di un incontro di calcio estivo sulla falsariga del Trofeo Berlusconi da disputarsi in più anni tra la Roma e la Juventus. Qualche giorno dopo mi recai presso l’abitazione di Baldini in Via Margutta dove venne definito l’accordo per la cessione di Emerson. Non è vero - si difende ancora Giraudo - che in Campidoglio chiesi l’allontanamento di Baldini come condizione della cosiddetta pace. So però che lui si offese con la Sensi per la sua mancata partecipazione all’incontro, dove invece era presente un consulente finanziario di una banca che si interessava alle vicende della Roma, ma non saprei dire chi fosse né di quale banca si trattasse. Non mi pare che fosse di Capitalia».
LE AMICHEVOLI ESTIVE Dopo che i pm gli fanno riascoltare l’intercettazione con Moggi in cui parlano del contratto per i diritti tv del torneo estivo, Giraudo spiega nel dettaglio quell’accordo facendo una clamorosa gaffe: sostiene che fino a quel momento non era stata disputata ancora nessuna amichevole fra Roma e Juve. In effetti avevano già giocato a Pescara nell’estate 2005, finì 2-2 con il clamoroso rigore regalato a Del Piero dall’arbitro Rocchi. Racconta Giraudo: «Le partite di cui si parla nella conversazione sono quelle del Trofeo di cui parlavo prima. Era previsto che in tali partite al Roma avesse un guadagno maggiore rispetto alla Juventus perché ci erano venuti incontro nel risolvere la questione Emerson. La Roma voleva che tale accordo venisse trasfuso in un contratto, ma noi volevamo subordinare tale contratto al pagamento ad Emerson delle pendenze che aveva ancora con la Roma come concordato». Poi il clamoroso vuoto di memoria: «Finora - sostiene Giraudo – di tali previste amichevoli non ne è stata fatta nessuna perché negli anni passati non era stato possibile trovare una data di agosto utile né uno sponsor per il trofeo. Mi risulta che ora uno sponsor sia stato trovato e ritengo che sia la Rai».
ALESSANDRO MOGGI DS ROMA In Procura a Roma Giraudo ha anche negato di essere a conoscenza dell’esistenza di un piano per portare Alessandro Moggi a diventare il nuovo direttore sportivo giallorosso: «Né Alessandro né Luciano Moggi mi hanno mai parlato di una sistemazione del figlio nel ruolo di ds della Roma. Non sono nemmeno a conoscenza del fatto che Luciano Moggi abbia avuto contatti con i Geronzi, padre e/o figlia, affinché il figlio svolgesse il ruolo di ds nella Roma».
IL CASO CHIELLINI A Giraudo vengono chieste anche delucidazioni sul caso Chiellini, che sembrava sul punto di passare alla Roma ma poi misteriosamente cambiò idea: «Pressioni di Davide Lippi e Alessandro Moggi per conferire loro il mandato con la prospettiva di trasferirsi alla Juve e giocare in Nazionale? In realtà fu il presidente del Livorno Spinelli che venne da me al Palace di Milano dicendomi che non era contento della proposta fattagli dalla Roma per l’acquisto di Chiellini, tenuto anche conto delle vicende economiche di quella società, e ci propose l’acquisto del giocatore purché gli offrissimo qualcosa in più. A noi il giocatore interessava e quindi concludemmo rapidamente».
VIEIRA Infine un episodio di "casa Juve", che smentisce Luciano Moggi: «Per Vieira - racconta Giraudo - abbiamo trattato con l’Arsenal e, trovato l’accordo con la società, abbiamo concluso il contratto del calciatore anche alla presenza di Alessandro Moggi che ha partecipato quale mediatore e che è stato pagato dalla Juve». Il 30 ottobre scorso, parlando in tv ad Antenna 3, Luciano Moggi aveva criticato con veemenza un articolo della Gazzetta dello Sport, annunciando di voler querelare la rosea per il pezzo sulla parcella di 2,5 milioni di euro che il figlio Alessandro avrebbe ricevuto dalla Juve nell’affare Vieira: «Mio figlio - disse alterandosi Moggi - non sapeva nemmeno dell’esistenza della trattativa di Vieira. Milan director general Adriano Galliani will not lodge an appeal to TAR against his nine-month Calciopoli ban.
The Rossoneri official appeared in front of the Court of Arbitration on Wednesday as he hopes for a reduction to the suspension handed out by the Federal Court of Appeal in July.

They had already tried to appeal that decision in the previous conciliation meeting with the FIGC in October, but had failed to make any progress until now.
The CONI Arbitration confirmed the pundits’ predictions, which suggested that the penalty for the minnows might be brought down to 11 points, granting a four-point reduction.
The discount allows Reggina to move to nine points on the table, leapfrogging Ascoli, who are now in last position.
However, Foti was still not satisfied with the verdict and reiterated the club's innocence in the scandal.
"I am very disappointed with this decision, because I do not believe I was guilty," said the club's owner, who was accused of calling referees' designator Paolo Bergamo in order to obtain favours for his side.
"This is an unfair verdict because Reggina are innocent. In any case we respect the decision, which we cannot consider fair for what the side has shown on the pitch," concluded the official.

Lega Calcio ban club Presidents Wednesday 13 December, 2006

The Lega Calcio will never again have a club representative as its President, announced Antonio Matarrese after tonight’s meeting.
“If the elected President of the Lega Calcio is also the head of a club, he must choose between one or the other. We can never again have an organisational rapport between the two figures, so he can’t represent the interests of an individual side and the collective,” said current President Matarrese.
“The new rules we have drawn up are very clear on this and nobody should even think about flying too close to the sun, because they will get their wings burned.”
The Lega Calcio – a sort of union of Serie A and B clubs – was embroiled in controversy for the years under Adriano Galliani’s Presidency due to claims he wielded too much power as vice-President of Milan.
Today the Lega united in Milan to discuss changes to the rules post-Calciopoli, which include a paid post as President.
“This is also a novelty, because the President will always be present, attentive and dedicate himself full-time to his duties,” added Matarrese.
“We have to start running this union like a business with a real Board of Directors to make decisions and focus only on the good of the whole football environment. The clubs approved these changes unanimously, although it can only be implemented after it has been passed by the Federation.”

The Lega Calcio will never again have a club representative as its President, announced Antonio Matarrese after tonight’s meeting.
“If the elected President of the Lega Calcio is also the head of a club, he must choose between one or the other. We can never again have an organisational rapport between the two figures, so he can’t represent the interests of an individual side and the collective,” said current President Matarrese.
“The new rules we have drawn up are very clear on this and nobody should even think about flying too close to the sun, because they will get their wings burned.”
The Lega Calcio – a sort of union of Serie A and B clubs – was embroiled in controversy for the years under Adriano Galliani’s Presidency due to claims he wielded too much power as vice-President of Milan.
Today the Lega united in Milan to discuss changes to the rules post-Calciopoli, which include a paid post as President.
“This is also a novelty, because the President will always be present, attentive and dedicate himself full-time to his duties,” added Matarrese.
“We have to start running this union like a business with a real Board of Directors to make decisions and focus only on the good of the whole football environment. The clubs approved these changes unanimously, although it can only be implemented after it has been passed by the Federation.”
