Even if Serie A overtakes the BPL, the top teams, unlike the Serie A clubs can keep on throwing around stupid money every summer until they get a great squad whereas the 3rd/4th place teams in Italy will be busy 'reinforcing' the team with some mid-table rotation players and 30 year old journeymen.

As long as the EPL is more focused on selling "fast, attractive" football vs. playing effective football, the money will only go so far. I remember when Mancini first took over City and ensured the team was defensively sound, the team was labelled "boring city". Despite how the game appears aesthetically, keeping an extremely fast tempo all match is not an effective way to play.

But the EPL currently still has the most money. Serie A "had" the most money, but not anymore. In fac it is due to it's financial restrictions, that they have declined.
