The League leaders are without several top players, including Pavel Nedved and Ciro Ferrara, for their difficult match with Udinese.

The Czech midfielder was detained in hospital overnight after coughing up blood during the 3-0 win against Inter last Sunday.

He has fully recovered from that bad fall on to his back, but doctors suggested resting Nedved ahead of Wednesday’s Champions’ League clash with Deportivo La Coruna.

Ciro Ferrara bruised his thigh during that match, while Igor Tudor and Alessandro Del Piero are the latest victims of the flu virus that decimated the side a fortnight ago.

Youth team star Matteo Paro is drafted in, fresh from winning the prestigious Viareggio tournament with Juventus.

Coach Marcello Lippi noted that all these players – including Del Piero – will be available for the Deportivo encounter.

However, there are reports that other stars will be rested ahead of that European showdown.

Cristian Zenoni should replace Mauro Camoranesi, while Paolo Montero and Edgar Davids could also be used part-time at Udine.

Buffon, Tacchinardi, Montero, Fresi, Pessotto, Conte, Salas, Chimenti, Iuliano, Zenoni, Birindelli, Camoranesi, Trezeguet, Di Vaio, Zambrotta, Thuram, Bonnefoi, Zalayeta, Davids, Paro

gazzetta.it

Our formation will change a bit for the game against Udinese, because we are resting some key players, while others are injured or sick. Gazzetta's (and the most predictable) formation will be:

Birindelli - Thuram - Iuliano - Zambrotta

Camoranesi - Conte - Tacchinardi - Davids

--------------------------------------------------- Di Vaio

-------------------- Zalayeta ----------------

So we are back to 4-4-2, actually gazzetta is saying that we will play 4-5-1 because Di Vaio will be drifting back since we are out od DP and Neddy.

Inter were very lucky to get away with a 2-1 away win against Bologna. :groan:

The score was 1-1 (my scoreline in the prediction game actually) but in the 38th minute Pagliuca made a stupid mistake of heading the ball outside the penalty area; only for it to meet Recoba who's long volley went straight into the net.

Bologna had Nervo sent-off early in the first-half.

Anyway, this means we should also WIN against Udinese.

give the reserves a chance,it's been a long time since we played them in serie a...besides,they won't have any playing time now they are out of the coppa:D

who knows,we may pull off a win.juve without it's stars is still better than a udinese without it's stars,no?
