yeah but if it was for that, we would simply loan a Giacch or Padoin for 6 months. this is a loan + obligation transfer so hell stay here longer obviously
This transfer shows one thing definitely. One of Asa-Lemina or both are out in the Summer.

If he provides us with a bit of grinta and tenacity in midfield, I'll be happy. We badly lack quality physical players and he has been very good for Genoa this season. Let's see how it goes.

:agree:

We badly need a dynamic midfielder and our only options are Sturaro (who cannot do anything other than make runs/tackle) and Lemina (who Allegri clearly does not rate). Rincon looked far better on the ball than Sturaro when I have seen him.

Everybody knows we are light in midfield and he gives us an extra player, who can tackle and is available for the CL.

But where are we going to be with him in 18 months? Is he really good enough for Juve in the long term given his age and the fact that we should aspire for a better midfield than we have now?

I can see him being a player we will want to get rid of in the future and struggle to do so.

I can see an argument that if we want Gagliardini or Kessie in the long term and this signing is as a backup, maybe we should just spend a bit more to get them now than spend 9m on someone who is likely to be surplus in 18 months.

Maybe Marotta thinks it is worth shelling out 9m for a stop gap.
9M isnt that much really, its nothing these days basically. if we dont need him 2 seasons from now i dont think we will have much trouble offloading him

even @DAiDEViL will fall in love with him and will be making fantastic avatars of him in a General uniform battling the evil clubs in Serie A and Europe. :agree:

no but seriously, watch him become a tuZ favourite.
If he manages to show some steel balls of his... you never know. Honestly, I'm tired of watching our midfield being closed down that easily, too soft. Maybe Pjanic - Marchisio - Rincon will give us some solidity after all? I'm not happy with the transfer but I hope it means Witsel is not coming :p Another slow-ass midfielder with no workrate and questionable attacking ability.
