Tuz panicking over bench players, as if he is the reason that we can't get Verratti or James.

Rincon will most likely replace Hernanes so anything more than a MEH is not worth it.

When Allegri went ballistic on the sidelines last week, one of the last things I thought he might have been saying was "Get me Tomas Rincon."

Well fuck me. I never thought the day would come were Axel Snitzel would look like a good signing, but guess what, he looks like Vidal and Iniestas lovechild right about now.

Please stop playing mediocre shitty CMs ffs.

I can only accept this transfer because of CONCAF where Asa and Lemina will go in February.Only for that.
-its held from 14th January till 5th February, during that periond we will play 4-5 games. signing a player because another one will be absent for 2 weeks makes zero sense
-Asa is uselesss, signing a player because he will be absent (he already is all the time) for 4-5 games also makes zero sense
-we will be without Lemina for 5 games at most, assuming Gabon reaches the final. we were missing 2 midfielders due to injuries for the most part of the season so far, so again signing a player for this purpose would make no sense

this signing is for the obvious reason that we are missing a midfielder of his characteristics (not necessary of his quality, but thats to be seen yet) and hes available for a somewhat low price. typical January squad filler signing

We could get a proper mid for all that money :boh:

You are right about dates for CONFAF and that Asa didn't play much and Lemina as you say will be away 4-5 games maximum. But you forget that after that competition our players needed a month more to reach their normal form. This is signing to have another player of Asa -Lemina level .Especially if we can get him for a cheap money.

yeah but if it was for that, we would simply loan a Giacch or Padoin for 6 months. this is a loan + obligation transfer so hell stay here longer obviously

:agree:

We badly need a dynamic midfielder and our only options are Sturaro (who cannot do anything other than make runs/tackle) and Lemina (who Allegri clearly does not rate). Rincon looked far better on the ball than Sturaro when I have seen him.

Everybody knows we are light in midfield and he gives us an extra player, who can tackle and is available for the CL.

But where are we going to be with him in 18 months? Is he really good enough for Juve in the long term given his age and the fact that we should aspire for a better midfield than we have now?

I can see him being a player we will want to get rid of in the future and struggle to do so.

I can see an argument that if we want Gagliardini or Kessie in the long term and this signing is as a backup, maybe we should just spend a bit more to get them now than spend 9m on someone who is likely to be surplus in 18 months.

Maybe Marotta thinks it is worth shelling out 9m for a stop gap.
