I think everything that happens here seems to spill over too much.

Issues or arguments usually start off between two people, and such events act as catalysts for people to vent the bitterness and anger they have against members. It happened in Lili's situation, and a similar thing is happening here.

Z simply said that he's gonna leave, giving the reasons for his departure. Within half a dozen posts, it's turned into "analyse Zlatan's reasons for leaving and make judgments about his motives".

Well my comments weren't really pertaining to his leaving, it was about his public profile lately.

But whenever someone who's been a member for a while leaves under less than blissful circumstances, people always gather to pursue a game of speculation about why, you can't really escape that.

More or less, yeah.

The word I would've used was assuming and accusing more than speculating though.

Oh well, it's none of my business I guess. People have the right (to a certain extent) to question and present theories, but if I said that I was leaving the forum, I'd appreciate a bit more dignity than that given to Zlatan.

Say he brought it upon himself with his posts in the past couple of weeks, but if he says he's leaving, I say give him a break

i mean , kid just wanted to say bye to everyone b/c he has some respect for us and thinks we should know that he's leaving and why. he didn't even start a new thread about it ......
and you go on for 2 pages just "discussing" him and his reasons for leaving.
if the same thing was done to me i woudln't even consider coming back after that.

I think his attempt in the above mentioned thread was a clear cut case to attract attention, not least illustrated by his admission of doing it on purpose in order to see "how much he could get away with, like Nick did". While Nick considers his life mission to turn heads though his own admission, that's what I imagine Z was trying to do as well.
