Ranieri ruined Tiago a long time ago with the way he was treating the player. Hopefully he will move on to a side that respects him. Hopefully Ranieri will just die.

Claudio Ranieri has defended Tiago Mendes after another dismal performance, while Catania boss Silvio Baldini was disappointed at losing the dream in stoppages.
“In the first half we tried to play our usual style, but Catania did well to soak up pressure and hit us on the counter-attack, so I changed to push more down the flanks,” explained Ranieri after Juventus’ 1-1 draw in Sicily.
“I wanted Vargas to attack us so that we could slip in behind him, but we didn’t manage it and he did well to plug the gap.”
The Bianconeri only snatched a point in injury time with Alessandro Del Piero’s penalty and the first player to be substituted was Tiago at half-time.
“He did not fail in this opportunity,” assured the Coach. “When we play in difficult situations then things get more complicated, but I think a big club should wait for its players to develop. We continue to believe in Tiago and he will play when I consider it the right time.”
Tiago is expected to leave Turin after just six months for a move to Tottenham, clearing a path for Liverpool’s Mohamed Sissoko to replace him.
Ranieri showed fair play when asked about Catania’s goal, which had more than a suspicion of offside about it.
“I don’t know. In any case it was very tight, and a mistake can happen. We are not looking for excuses here, David Trezeguet did not get a single decent cross all night.”
Catania thought they were about to register their first victory over Juventus in 43 years, but it was snatched away at the death.
“I am disappointed for my players, who are powered by emotions and the hope of achieving incredible feats,” said Coach Baldini.
“We prepared very well for this game and we believed all the way, so it’s a shame this dream vanished in stoppages. The draw was an acceptable result and we mustn’t cry if we only got a point off Juventus.
“We are a team who can attack and know how to defend when we lose possession. When we manage to achieve this balance, we put in some great performances. It was a shame the heavy pitch meant Giuseppe Mascara and Jorge Martinez weren’t as fast as they usually are."

Maybe Andy wont like it, but i never saw a world class in Tiago and he'll never be the team's leader and midfield general. Tiago is a very good squad player who is very reliable and does his duties on the pitch, but we simply can't expect from Tiago to be the one who'll make the team play better.
I like him, i like to have him in my team, but with the players we have around him we're forced to rely on Tiago to be the only one who'll create our game and Tiago isn't the man for the job. He's creative player but not THE one who should do all the job in creating chances.
In Lyon he had Juninho who was giving the creative spark , in Portugal he has Cristiano Ronaldo and Deco, in Chelsea he had Joe Cole, Lampard, Robben. And he worked pretty well there, when he had all the class around him.
With us, when Camoranesi is out, he has Nocerino, Zanetti and Nedved stuck on the left line of the pitch, and sometimes he has Salihamidzic there. He's alone and he's not the player who can do the things we expect him to do when he doesn't have another similar player with him on the pitch.
And looking at how the other teams threated him, one may ask himself if he's really the class we thought he is.
Chelsea saw the potential in him and bought him for 15m euro. Then after one single year they sell him for 10m euro. Lyon , the team that always sells their players for double their realistic price sold him to us for 13m euro, when he was 26 and with his best years in front of him, earning only 3m euro on him. Lyon sold Diarra, Essien, Malouda for 20 or 30m euro, they sold even the left back Abidal for 15m euro and now they sell Tiago for much less.
Why ?
To sum up, don't expect miracles from Tiago and lets not sell him but lets buy vdV and get back Giovinco so Tiago will be able to do the job he was doing at Chelsea, Lyon and Portugal. The way it is now Tiago is forced to do the job 2 or 3 men were doing in his previous clubs.

tiago is an asshole...is performing bad and punches opponents, nobody needs idiots..he played today again very bad...i said you guys already in summer that he isnt worth his money, and was brought with wrong expactions the motherfucker isnt a playmaker and is also not a player who can controll a game, he is a squad player, and cant take responsibitily for our defensive - offensive link or whatever...
i dont say that we should get rid of him, but to be fair...he is playing bad and everybody (gigli, rainieri, secco,...) says that we believe in him and he will get his chances...but whats with almiron he needs also a little bit backup and support...tiago is getting to many chances everybody in the squad should be supported and playing time...another example is olivera who is i dont know where, not even in the bench i think....

Tiago is a good player, in bad form and in a wrong league and a wrong club, that's it. He is not the player we need, he will be successful somewhere else, I wouldn't put him at the same level as Diego or VDV, all the money spent on him was the craziest thing to do, so take the highest bid and SELL! The longer he stays the lower his transfer fee goes..
But I never thought of Tiago being a world class player. He has however been a fine player his entire career, being a great foil to world class players such as Juninho, doing the little things and getting the ball to the top players on his team. That is what he does best, and probably nobody understands what sort of player he is. I do. Too many people are expecting him to be some sort of world class Rui Costa, or something, but he's not that sort of player. Tiago is a midfield all-arounder who is the perfect player to set between a destroyer and someone like Rui Costa or Zidane.
And if we actually purchased Tiago thinking that he would be a world class player for us, it's just more evidence that I'm right about our board and manager as well. Specifically that they're fools.
