It says that Lyon is asking for Tiago on loan till the end of the season... the only thing left is the "yes" from the player...

So... we got him from Lyon, and now we are loaning him to Lyon, six months later... :wallbang:

Lyon Want Tiago Back On Loan – Report

Juventus midfielder Tiago Mendes could re-join Lyon on loan until the end of the season, according to L’Equipe.

The 26-year-old signed for the Bianconeri in the summer from the French champions for €14m, however he has struggled to adapt to the Italian game.

Having made just nine appearances, three of these starts, there has been strong speculation that Juve will look to sell the Portuguese midfielder.

L’Equipe claims that Lyon President Jean-Michel Aulas will look to take advantage of the situation by presenting a six-month loan offer for the player.

Tiago had two successful years at the Stade Gerland after joining from Chelsea in 2005, making 56 appearances and winning successive French championships.

However if Juve are to offload Tiago in January, they are believed to prefer to sell the player outright, and there has reportedly been a €13m enquiry from Tottenham Hotspur.

The Bianconeri are expected to unveil the signing of Liverpool midfielder Momo Sissoko from Liverpool in the next few days, and with Parma starlet Luca Cigarini also reportedly on his way to Turin, this could open the door for an exit for both Tiago and the hugely disappointing Sergio Almiron.

:disagree: After all these posts a year ago where I was saying Tiago's move away from Lyon would be bad for Tiago, bad for Lyon, and bad for whatever team he ended up on.

It many occasions, we did lack midfield creativity....we had to play Palla out of position, and Nedved certainly didn't provide boosts in our attack for much of our first half (although he had his games)..

We could have started Tiago infront of Nocerino and Zanetti and play a 4-3-3...
That would be the only formation where I think Tiago could really start everygame...But ofcourse were not gonna sub Neddy nor a healthy Camo..

if we stick with 4-4-2, Im sorry to say Tiago is inferior to Zanetti Nocerino partnership so far..Last time Tiago played somewhat on the leftmidfield side, coming inside on the attacks...that might work...

Tiago is just not adept enough defensively for our current team to play the CM/DM role...

TRIBAL ALERT!!!

Ranieri warns: Juventus can't wait for Tiago, Almiron
tribalfooball.com - January 11, 2008

Juventus coach Claudio Ranieri has admitted he's lost confidence in midfield pair Sergio Almiron and Tiago.

Both players arrived in the summer and have failed to nail down a regular first team place in Ranieri's plans. The coach said: "I can't wait for Tiago or Almiron to adjust to our system.

"Rafael van der Vaart is a very good player, but he is more an attacker than a midfielder. That is what we're missing at the moment."

Asked about Serie A leaders Inter Milan, Ranieri added: "If I could deprive them of one player, it would be Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

"I have always said Juve must go for the Scudetto this season.

i don't think he will accept Lyon's offer atleast not after they said that he is not physically strong enough. eventhough iam not a big fan of Tiago but i still regard him as a big addition to the team. don't blame CR for benching him he, don't want to change a winning line-up. to be honest after our preseason game i didn't think our team is good enough to win sixth place, basically we couldn't pass the ball around, we keep looseing position in MF and our attackers couldn't score. but the worst thing is that we kept leaking goals. Rino-Zanetti partnership game the team the stability that we needed, helped us keep position and our defender gained confidence. one thing that we r really missing is creativity and this can be covered once Camo comes back. the least of our worries is if Tiago plays or not, his time will come, even if it didn't then atleast we r winning.
