Barzagli --- bonucci---- chiellini was the BEST defence in the premier league and serie A.... we have 3 man defence and we were able to defend very well against all teams exept the bayern kings. We should just get youngsters which are very talented which will one day replace our current stars. ie. Ogbonna
Vermaelen would be very good purchase if the price is right, he's very good with ball and a good defender, he was great the last 2 season for Arsenal altough he's been mediocre this year, lets not forget he's playing for arsenal. Like the belgian members confirmed he has always been good for belguim.

Vermaelen latest season was as bad as Bonucci first season in Juve. Even in 2011/2012 season he was still making mistakes, only to be regularly save by Chiellini.
But last season Bonucci improved alot. That's why I think with Conte , defensively Vermaelen will be back to his best.
Ya with the injury issues he wasn't on top form last season.

For years, we have the issue that we conside stupid goals. just about everytime, it was down to bad reading of the game, bad anticipating, bad positionning, bad interpretation of opposing tactics.
Kompany keeps this defence rigid. He's a massive talent, tho tends to make faults aswel playing for the NT. But Vermaelen ? oh yeah, he can lead a bit. But he cant position his back line. He's a typical english defender, all physical, but tactically just bad.
Replaced Kompany ? lets see how he does when the opponent can actually pass the ball.
Comparing to bonucci, who was the best defender of euro 2012, who is just as good with the ball. No, bonucci isnt a leader, but he is very solid in 1v1 and tactical positionning.
and that positionning, is one of the key attributes to succeed in Italy.
I'm sorry chester, but you let your fandom for our belgian players cloud your vision. Apart from Kompany, our defence is rather bad, and i fucking hope if we go to brazil, that we dont meet a team thats good at trough balls, cause they will rape us.

Have you considered the gentle approach? Your aggression is so fucking provocative it forces people to disagree with you, out of spite, if nothing else. You might make valid points, but your delivery and presentation is god awful. If you were a salesperson, you'd fail 20 times out of 10. Btw, this is a cold hard fact

You don't come across as a stupid person and that's the only reason i bother reaching out, you do raise intersting points sometimes but the way you go about presenting them and critisizing every other post even when its clear you have no idea what you are talking about is becoming tiring fast and not only for me i'm sure.
I dont know you personally so I have no idea for what you are trying to compensate for but doing it online isn't the way to go.

Well at the moment I live in Belgium and Vermaelen is a good defender.. He is better than Bonucci in my opinion (however, Bonucci can become better than him)..
I would take Vermaelen over Ogbonna, that's for sure..
