If we are abandoning this whole project, you go out there and get the best available coach but in all likelihood, the best coaches would not join this hot mess of a club

So you stick with what you have and give it more time in the hope that things change.

We will be in another year zero with a new coach either way.

Irrespective of CL results, if Motta gets CL spot, he's safe. And if we finish in the top 4, that would mean we would've shown some modicum of improvement to get there and build on this foundation.

Honestly Motta is a good coach but I dont think he can be a really great one until he tweaks his formation.
I like that we are able to connect some passes but the important thing is missing - Nothing on the attacking end, no killer passes, no one twos.. Only individual brilliance from the likes of Yildiz Mbangula and Conceicao.
You cant build an attack solely on individual brilliance - There needs to be the setup first so you get team goals and then when things are tough you use individual brilliance.

I know that it is a lot of ifs and buts, but where do you think we would be if we had Bremer not injured and a proper Dusan backup from the start of the season?

I think Gasperini would flop again if he joined big club. I also think he needs time to really change the philosophy but he is 66. Allegri is 10 years younger than him.

Spaletti is tied with Italy till 2026 summer. He also is getting old at 66.

De zerbi would be a gamble just like Motta. No big team experience.
We won't have the patience for these managers to instill their style. For me there are only three managers I would bet on. Zidane, Deschamps and Conte. All three managers have the adapt philosophy first then depending on their trait they instill their style. Conte would be an obvious short term asshole success. Zidane, made players like casemiro into what he was, he did take a bit of time though in turning things around but would be refreshing and a manager all the players would look up to, I mean who wouldn't. Deschamps did it before and will do it again, again, relies on structure and organisation, hates changing things too much and too quickly.

Outside this, I have a soft spot for Gallardo and would love to have him here. He failed at Ittihad but that's hardly a place to judge a manager. Nuno Santo, agrees.

Ya'll go away with Deschamps. The man can barely grind out wins with a stacked france squad, I don't wanna know what he does with Gatti and Savona. Massively overrated and plays shitty football on top of it. Haaaaaard pass.

brilliance.
Motta has a way with mid tier (financially) teams. Teams that are not quite Man City / PSG rich but have enough resources and pedigree to push for EU compition like Bologna, Lazio and Fiorentina. His tactics answer for mid level clubs. If we are satisfy with just being present in the CL and push a top 4 finish in Serie A he answers for that.

Keep Motta, and see if he can get CL spot for next season, if he gets it he can stay. I see no point in changing the coaches all the time.
ITs at least visible that he is not happy with those performances and to my liking he is not blinded. Openly speaks when we play bad.

Boban:"It's not fair when Motta says that the strikers need to do more. It's him who needs to help them with his tactics. They're too isolated up front and receive too few playable balls.Motta looks conservative kind of manager."

They have no freedom and it's also clear our players are scared to lose the ball. We never try the through ball or a risky pass.

Sorry, but he needs to go. He can't win against mediocre teams. It's time we went for a non-Italian manager because we've exhausted that talent pool. If not, I can bet my life we'll get Pioli since he's won the scudetto before, it's a terrible mindset from these dinosaurs. Conte is warming up at Napoli, he won't come. Only Italian I'd take is Mancini.

And we'll consider that as the real first season for Giuntoli. :agree:

Capello:"We didn’t understand that why Vlahovic was not in the starting line up, but it’s a team that doesn’t put many crosses in the box extremely predictable and slow passing. He (Thiago Motta) has to find a solution that is the job of the coach. We’ll see if Kolo Muani can bring a bit more."

He is full of bullshit, sorry, Dusan aint even good with headers to begin with, he has only scored 16 headers in his whole career, which counts to 13% of his goal tally. Even Nico Gonzalez is better than him in that aspect with 20 header goals (26 % of his goals).

It's the confidence to win it back easily and without just closing them down, because we think that's all that's required. It's something we struggle with, unless if the opponent fucks up or we have the odd interception a lot of time we're struggling to win it. Loca's done well in middle to win what he can, Mckennie does his fair share to, the rest, other than CB struggle.

The only thing that i worried is the mental aspect of the player. Can he provide winning mentality to the squad? Because it's as important as tactical aspect. Have the right mindset before match is a must.

In term of tactical, i like his idea. If that combined with right mentality, we can be contender for UCL tittle in 3 years from now. A pressing monster team.
