I think he is aware of that. He accepted this challenge and so far he has been performing above expectations while fielding bunch of next gen players. Verona trashed Conte's Napoli last week but last night they never threatened us. This season has 2011/12 vibes, hungry and motivated team, new manager. Im loving every second of it so far.

Maybe in a span of 8 years, how much he needed to win a Scudetto. And that was only because Juve was weak and on a downfall in that period.
Napoli has how many titles in their history, 3? So he won 1/3 of their titles. In Juve he will win 13 titles? Amazing feat, stuff of Gods. What a chad!

In Giuntoli's reign, apart from winning a scudetto after 33 years, Napoli managed to reach quarter finals of CL for the first time in their history. This is the stature of the club we're talking about.

2 of those 3 leagues were won when they had the greatest footballer of all of time playing for them. I believe Moggi was Napoli DS back then..(?). And one with the great Giuntoli.

He is an absolute chad no doubt!

The thing that gets me most excited is that if you look at the starting team that beat Verona - only Cabal and Di Gregorio were new players (Savona and Mbangula were available within Next Gen last year too) - and yet we look a completely different side on so many levels. I was hell bent on us getting rid of Locatelli but he looks like a different player and so does Gatti. Even Vlahovic - he doesn't look so frustrated - he is working his ass off out there - the work he does on pressing is underestimated - I was amazed how hard he was working.

Imagine when Thuram (back from injury soon), Adzic (also back soon), Conceicao, Nico Gonzalez and Koopmeiners are all available and fully integrated into the squad and system of play. Even assuming we don't get a Sancho or any other player on the last day of the mercato, the squad is VERY strong now.

GK (3): Di Gregorio, Perin, Pinsoglio
DEF (8): Savona, Danilo, Kululu, Gatti, Bremer, Cabal, Cambiaso, Rouhi
MID (7): Luiz, Thuram, Locatelli, Fagioli, Koopmeiners, McKennie, Adzic
FWDs (7): Conceicao, Nico Gonzalez, Weah, Mbangula, Yildiz, Vlahovic, Milik

Squad of 25 players - 12 new compared to last year - average age of less than 25 years old. With lots of quality. Sancho or Kalimuendo would just be a bonus.

Goalkeeping - slight upgrade at least in terms of ball playing
Defence - Slight upgrade
Midfield - MASSIVE upgrade (this was by far our weakest area last season)
Forwards - Strong upgrade (From Kean, Kostic, Chiesa, Iling Junior - to Conceicao, Nico, Mbangula - maybe Sancho?). If Sancho comes then its a massive upgrade.

I think wages overall should still be lower than last season with a net spend of around 50ish million Euros - lots of plusvulenzas too - so financially it was reasonably sustainable and we are going to generate a lot more revenue this financial year - so we might actually break even this financial year.

I don't want to get carried away, but I have never looked forward to a season like this in a LONG time. I have already watched the first 2 games at 3am - I don't even think I did that once last season.

Great thing is - there are SOO many home grown players on that list. We don't even need to cut anyone from the list for the Champions League as a result even if we end up with a squad list of 26.

If he wins 13 league titles anywhere with any club, even combined, I will delete myself forever from this forum.

I was watching this and pay attention at around 3:40 when he meets Motta. Now does that look like a formal meet and greet with your boss or more like hanging with that older cool uncle you haven’t seen in a while?

That there shows me he’s been doing a great job bonding with the players and it’s a major factor why they’re playing the way they are.

The problem with Allegri wasn’t just his outdated tactics but I feel he lost that connection, maybe his age was too far apart too. Players have to look up to you and I feel they do with Motta.
