Tbh as much as I wanted Motta this past year I honestly didn't think we would see improvements this early, I was expecting teething problems, without sounding carried away I think it's only going to get better over the course of the season.

And people keep criticizing the management for cutting off the unsuitable players . That's a calculated move to help the new squad progress faster with new ideas.
Win, lose or draw the important thing is to finally change our approach to games after years and years of miserable tactics, cowardly defending against cellar-dweller teams and stinking up the joint with our lifeless performances. At least we can enjoy watching us play again. All the rest is a bonus.

Didn't need those matches. It's just basic logic. Anyone with a history in team sports understands it's waaaaaaaaay easier to transmit patterns and ideas to the team without having to carry 10 unneeded players.
