Exactly the point.. how many recently retired explayers have gone to become great managers.. very few..

You would want the keys to the biggest club in Italy to go to a manager with a proven track record.. hiring a manager whos had 1 decent season since 2019 in the top flight is a punt..
Very few players successfully transition to top managers yet we have signed the most promising up and coming manager in the country.

One decent season since 2019?

Conte got sacked by Atalanta before spending a season in Serie B and eventually making the move to JJ.

Lippi had an up and down coaching career until he found some decent success with Napoli before eventually making the move to JJ.

Unless a manager is managing a super stacked team right at the start of their careers like Guardiola or Zidane, most coaches would be 'learning on the job' before eventually finding success.

Why should his stints at Spezia or Genoa even matter lol

You would be very confused if you look a list of current top coaches if this is a genuine concern of yours, that its rare ex players become top managers.

How many of these are NOT ex players that played in top level leagues?

P.S just realised the list is missing Conte lol, really harsh on him. Would have him top 10 or shy off it.

What Ranieri did with Leicester in the best league in the world was spectacular.

What Motta did with Bologna in a league in decline was quite good. And that's about it.
Quite good? You must be joking here. When was the last time Bologna played in the CL? I cant recall in modern history. So yeah, it is a miracle that he qualified with a team that usually ends up between 12-15 place in the league. Over the last 10 seasons, only once did Bologna finish among top 10. They were also in Serie b frequently. A young manager, with fresh ideas and different brand of football to what we are use to, great experience as a player as he worked with some of the best managers and played with some of the best players in his time, coming off a fantastic season. Id want that coach 10/10 times here. It was due time to move this club forward.

Well what’s to be excited about?

weah and gyatti are starters

Chiesa is outcasted

and according to everyone here vlahovic is worse than Amauri

no attacking threat

but then you guys say ohh how come everyone Negative.

make up your minds. Either squad is shit
And everyone is right to be worried

or squad is great and Motta will do well

I already read the Motta white paper, in short words he wants his players to love the ball and play without limiting their capabilities

More than half of it he talks about the mental aspect, he just touch a very little on tactical side. Most of that comes by example what other managers did that influence him

What he want from the player
- love the ball
- losing the ball means a football crime
- he hate players that limiting himself from what they actually capable of
- he loves players who can hold up the ball and invite pressure to exploit space that leaves when the opponents are pressing
- players with creative and critical thinking, self effective with him to motivate them with awareness and empathy
- with all of that he wants a harmony dressing room where players have collective trust (Bielsa's philosophy) which he adopts

What he wants to achieve from his team how they will play, he called it The Flow

The players need confidence. It's going to take time. In today's game it's far less technical. If the group believe and have good fitness, know how to press (and play against the press) you can go far.

Get the fucking basics right first and go from there. No point in working on a highly tactical system if the players shit themselves every time they are pressed.

Jungtoli isn’t fulfilling on the promises made to Motta on the mercato, so it’s hard to blame him for anything that goes wrong this season. Unless he tries to field two goalkeepers since they comprise 20% of our squad.

The caos made after 4 friendlies...

Let me tell you something, I never want Juventus to lose, but theres a litle part of me who now wants Juve to lose against to Como just to see this place go crazy hell mode :lol::lol::lol:
Yeah, but that's completely acceptable to feel that way

What's the old expression that goes I can say bad things about by family, but if someone outside of my family were to say the same thing, we're going to have problems.

We're allowed to be negative and have a sense of humor about how things are going. It's part of the fun. If non-Juve fans do it, well, they're probably right, but we can still tell them to fuck off and worry about their own (most likely) shitty club.

It's the most fun to be on here talking when things are falling apart. Who wants to be in here in an echo chamber just repeating how great we are when things are going great like in the 2010s. There's nothing to talk about.
