I don't understand why people put Marchisio in the starting XI. Some other player would improve our play drastically if it wasn't him.

From what I've seen (and I've seen a lot) he's very inconsistent and his play is not noticeable, nor he adds much quality. Reminds me of Zanetti without long passes. Invisible soldier in other words, but not someone who deserves to be a starter. Very good back up but other than that I don't like his style. That being said, maybe some other coach would pull the best out of him but Ciro, Zac and Del Neri surely couldn't do such.

Some are sure he's very good and deserves to start. I've been thinking that as well but after some time I've realized he's not that great at all. At that position he should have some great quality, like being a great passer, posses great vision and/or be creative or something. He doesn't have such plus he's not even fast while at the same time his passes are simple always and his movement isn't something to be proud of really. So he has everything but it's at 30% ... So he's not a left midfielder nor he's a regista. Just a central midfielder with many flaws, a player like Tiago. IMO such players are good for bench but it stays at that. Aquilani is not old Aquilani who had great shot, who had great vision and who had very good passes, something that makes him different.

Imagine if we had Melo - Kwadwo, Melo - Inler or hell, even Melo - M'Villa

Seriously, if there is ONE player to sign right now to truly rejuvenate this team with pure quality, its Hazard, even if Sanchez would be a top 2nd choice too.

I would be delighted if we signed either of them.

I cannot understand why nobody at our club had the sense to sign Hazard last season, when he was playing well but his price would be significantly less.

I tell you about an invisible guy who made the difference between a great team and a good team. His name is Ramires and IMO he was the most influential player in Benfica from last year. Benfica could've won the EL last year if you are thinking about proportions. If we can find a great coach who can put Marchisio playing like hell then you'll see the difference. (Real) invisible job helps a lot in terms of team's balance. In a 4-3-3 he'd be our most influential midfielder.

Keeping Quagliarella and getting Hazard would make perfect sense.

More than getting Bastos and a great SS IMO (once Quag is already accostumed to the team and, yeah, I rate very very high the little belgian).

Following that logic we should keep every single player because coaches don't know to use then, even Grosso, Martinez, Amauri and many many others.

Ferrara, Zaccheroni and Del Neri? It's coaches fault. Not at all, but players also have bad phases.

Why sign Quag when we're planning to sign Sanchez or Rossi? It doesn't make any sense, DP will be the second SS behind one of those stars IF we end up signing one of them. As soon as we sign Quag we won't get Sanchez, Neymar or Rossi.

I don't like neither of them, but sure a better coach like Capello could have gotten more out of maby Amauri and Grosso for example.

To be added some of this players is in juve because of the 3 coaches. Del Neri picked Martinez for Juventus for example, would Capello or Lippi bring him, no I dont think so

Short memory? Marchisio was our most important midfielder last year despite being inconsistent and having Sissoko, Poulsen, injured Camo and brainless Melo as competition. Still counts to something.
