The non-EU issue is not that big of deal. It's okay to use it on a squad player (random Bosnian LB, for example). It doesn't always have to go to a big signing (Neymar), if you plan on getting someone like Sanchez.

P.S. Not in response to Osman's post, btw.

I think Marotta should look at Senad Lulic, Young Boys, Bosnian NT left back, he was amazing tonight against Romania, was great in two games against Tottenham, very good back up, he is 2x better than De Ceglie and not expensive
only 2x better? fuck him get us someone better...

I really hope were in for a surprise this summer, but we have been promised champions every season since serie b and look how things turned out.

Another CL-less season could prompt our management to shuffle things up. Any1 who follows North American sports can cite examples of teams purging themselves of their roster and rebuilding after many years of disappointment. In those cases, no1 is untouchable. In football, since transfer fee's are involved, the possibilities are scarier, since instead of freeing salary cap space to rebuild, you need actual cash to sign the players to begin with, meaning your most valuable assets are up for sale at the right price.

If Madrid's interest in Chiellini is serious and they make a huge offer, I have no doubt our management will sell.

Even though he should be 1 of the pillars of the squad, and despite his status as a fan favourite, the fact is we don't have enough money to strengthen our weak spots and fund all the dream formations in this thread (especially without CL, a season that will finish with a big financial loss, and €49.5m in options likely to be exercised). If we really intend to sign 4 "champions", expect some sacrifices.

If David Luiz, who according to wiki had 83 league appearances with Benfica and 5 with Brasil, cost €25m, we will receive a big pay off for Chiellini. Madrid paid around €30m for Pepe from Porto, and his reputation at the time was not as Chiellini's is now.

Since we don't need to sell to survive like the Portuguese clubs, and since serie a, despite its downturn, is tougher than the Portuguese league, it stands to reason that Chiellini, who has more appearances for both club and country, should cost at least €40m.

Apply the above to Buffon as well, who for me, would be an even tougher pill to swallow.

no end production? with proper strikers he would have a decisive role here. +25 assists and +10 goals in the first season. Just look at his passing vision and the ability to solve a counterattack + the incredible short time he takes to resolve a 3,4 defenders by inventing a pass or taking the matter into his own feet.

I didn't say that's type of player he is. I've never seen him.

I'm not taking about the rule. I'm talking about not wanting to sign a player that we would otherwise sign because he is non-EU. We don't have to use the spot on a superstar.
It doesnt have to be a super star, but its common sense, you spend that exclusive 1 Non eu spot on the best quality player you can get (in the position needed). Football is world wide sport, and EU countries is just a part of Europe, not even whole Europe. Let alone rest of the world. Big talent pool, its good to use that spot wisely, you only get one chance.

Yeah, of course. But if (let's dream here) we sign Mascherano, Beck and Sanchez, we've basically completed the major transfers our team needs, not using a non-EU spot. We see a nice, cheap, young Bosnian LB. We use the spot that wasn't gonna go to anyone big anyway on him. No big deal.

No thank you, he can do these shit wherever he wants except Juventus. Good luck to him because he is talented but away from us.
Add some more money and get Aguero instead he is 10 times better.

Saying Farfan fast and knowing Swedish is fun. I hope we get him just for the sake of listening to commentators say his name.

Och Farfan skjuter :lol2:
