Juve to reinforce with Tasci
Juventus will make a move for Stuttgart centre-back Serdar Tasci in January with doubts surrounding Nicola Legrottaglie and Leandro Rinaudo, according to Tuttosport.
The Turin giants have something of an emergency at the back and Beppe Marotta is eager to resolve it when the transfer window opens again.
Juventus are apparently giving serious consideration to a bid for Tasci, a German international who they have long been interested in signing.
The Bianconeri's former director of sport Alessio Secco and chief scout Renzo Castagnini had even earmarked the 23-year-old for the future.
Marotta and his right-hand man Fabio Paratici agree with that assessment and feel that a centre-back trio consisting of Tasci, Giorgio Chiellini and Leonardo Bonucci would leave Juventus very competitive in the defensive department.
Juventus are thinking about selling Nicola Legrottaglie in January, so as to raise funds before his contract expires in 2011.
Rinaudo's recent back surgery has also left the Bianconeri a little short at the back, making a move that little bit more urgeny, as he won't be back for at least three months.
Juventus did inquire about Tasci this summer, but Stuttgart didn't want to sell.
At the time, the player's agent Maurizio Gaudino said:
“Serdar would like to go to Juve a lot, but Stuttgart don't want to let him leave.
“We have spoken a lot with the directors, also recently, but the position has remained the same.
“The lad is now a little down, but he is a professional and he has a contract. For the moment, there isn't any hope. We'll see in the next transfer window.”
