It was said that winger position is not the best one for Diego and Gourcuff. Why should we buy someone and than try to fix some SUDDEN problems, because we have to many central players and no wingers at all, like it was in this season with 5(!)MC/DMC and only 2 wingers.
I don't want to say that Gourcuff is bad player. He's good. But we need AMC in last resort. We already have AMC and have to fix other areas.

We can rely on Camo as substitute. Definitely. He's passion and experience can be useful if things are bad at the end of the match, and he can play some full games when first choice RW (not injury prone) will be suspended for example.
I just hope for that. It's stupid to sell/loan out our players to buy someone else for same positions. And also it's waste of money on transfers and wages.

Lets not go into 41212 other creative formation to suit one single purchase
Gourcouff has not been excellent in ligue 1 lately (even Blanc has admitted that he has not replicated the form, from the beginning of the season) Don't kill me if im wrong, I haven't seen the matches just read about them. He does get credit from scoring important cl goals though.
We need to buy to suit the formation our new coach wants to play. Not the reverse, on a player flopping in the seria a once.
What is the point in buying Gourcouf and then play Diego out of position, instead of buying a winger and play everybody in position. You can argue Diego for Gourcouff. Thats fine, I just think we're going to kick ourselves for doing that.
I argue Di Maria all the time. Then we'd have Di Maria, Gio for the left Diego, Candreva, Camo and Gio for Center and Camo, Candreva for the right. Gio would be used bc of rotation an injuries and everbody will play their favourite position.
It like this summer, we needed D'ago but bought Melo, now we need width, so we should not buy another treqaurtista.
I think what those of us who want Gourcuff are trying to say is, he is quickly becoming one of the best players in the world. He also speaks Italian and he's at his best in the biggest matches (imagine him destroying meelan twice a year). Not to mention his style is as close as you can get to Zizou.

I agree with you that Di Maria could flop, almost any player could. Di Maria would be good in 433, 4231 and 442. We have a Gourcouff, and his name is Diego. I want to give him another season on a team that is capable of performing.
I am against Gorucouff AND Diego, Gourcouff for Diego- ok but it's not the smartest way to spend our money imo.

No, clearly I'm not Secco. It's not ridiculous to sell one winger for another. I'm not saying necassarily to sell Diego rather move him and incorporate an adequate partner for him to work with and they both can shoulder some of the creative/attacking burden. We have been saying that all season that Diego can't do it himself. Well, Gourcuff could be your answer. IMO who would be better and would make more of an immediate impact?

I told you guys we needed D'ago last year but no one really listened. A 4231 will give us plenty of width and we all see how Camo/Diego rotation, overlap and change positions all across the midfield. This isn't FM where computer algorythms can only allow players to stay in their respective positions. Remember how often Nedved would cut inside? Thats what made him so dangerous.
