MS Paint is the only Microsoft programme I've ever sang the praises of. My borther once wanted to resize an image. He cranked up Fireworks (which takes forever), then spent a minute getting through all the menues to get this simple task done. Finally, Fireworks crashed, taking his several minutes work with it. I opened MS Paint and had the same thing done in about 6 seconds. It don't do much, but it does it fast and well.
I just had to dig up this thread and add these "verbal wonders" of Martin to this list:
On being Vegetarian and the argument of eating meat:
"They say there's a difference between killing a plant and killing an animal...There is... Plants are stationary while animals can runaway or hide, so it's fair game with them!"
On defending a one-on-one:
"I'm not good at defending because when someone's attacking, I don't move"
The first one kept me awake for hours (well, that and the dozens of questions he threw my way in which i answered seriously and comprehensively while he was half asleep.)

For anyone interested, Majed totally kicked my ass going one-on-one in the park behind the Castello in Milano. We played on a grass field resembling a potato field, with a ball that had gone bad (wouldn't hold air) and just the two of us. But although I'm fond of making excuses for playing sucky (hey when you're no good, clutching at straws is all I got
