One big difference I suppose between China and America is that in America we can call our leaders a bunch of murderous f*ckheads, identifying them for what they are, without being executed and having our family imprisoned.

Well, most of the time. :shifty:

That and those things where we vote and the leaders of the country rotate every 2 to 8 years. I can't remember what they're called but I didn't see any during the opening ceremonies so they must not happen in China.

in fact China can't prevent the use of weapons by Sudan even it sold weapons to Sudan. You must say that China has the responsibility to stop Sudan's genocide, yes! i support China to be more responsible in this issue, but it isn't China's fault that leading to genocide.

And I dont think there's a relationship between the big oil investments from China in Sudan and Sudan's genocide. China has many investments in African countries, not only Sudan, doing business and investments in these countries don't mean you have the rights to make intervention. China's most famous diplomacy policy is its non-intervention to other countries, the reverse of the US.

My opinion is based on the facts i know from both local and western press. I dont know whether China really supports genocide. But according to China's diplomacy policy and common sense, i think China has the responsibility of genocide because it can use its influence to urge Sudan stop genocide, but there's still no bulletproof evidence that China supports genocide. Sudan army using Chinese weapons dont mean China support its policies. In the 1980s, the US gov also sold weapons to Bin Laden and their purpose was more obvious, to use Bin Laden to against the USSR invasion.
You can say all you want that CNPC and PetroChina doesn't have any stake in what happens in Darfur, but you've been proven wrong time and time again. The Chinese government gives Sudan and their militias money and weapons for them to slaughter thousands of people just for oil field rights. Those rights to oil fields are, of course, exclusively controlled by the Sudanese government and also protected by militias, hence why PetroChina PAYS them. Some of the money goes into the pockets of the militias and President Bachir, while other money is allocated to keep a stranglehold over the Darfur region.

If you don't understand these concepts, it's not my problem.

China aids and abets genocide. It's in their best interest to do so.

ok, u don't believe ur media, so who told u about the genocide thing? alien?
Somebody with far more credibility than your own media.

An organization such as this would not exist if there was actually no genocide in Sudan.

seems u need to know more about todays China;)

we haven't executed or imprisoned people for stupid reasons for a long long long time

if we want to call our leadership a bunch of murderous f*ckheads, which we did often no matter public or private, and just keep it between Chinese, that will be fine, but in front of foreign press, then u are making a big big big mistake. I dont know how to explain to you guys but its a living philosophy of Chinese for thousands of years, who break the rule will be considered a traitor or insane not only by the government but most of the Chinese people. its been part of our culture

The truth about Beijing Olympics is most athletes are already dead.

The truth about the Beijing Olympics is that tanks run roughshod over all the athletes and all the tourists following the opening ceremonies.

Chinese movie directors, and producers of the opening ceremony, Zhang Yimou and Zhang Jigang have since been commissioned by President Hu Jintao with a $500MM budget to produce a 16-day-long movie to recreate a fake Olympic tournament using the animated corpses of the dead athletes and tourists.

"This will be a much bigger production than my 2006 epic, Curse of the Golden Flower", said Mr. Yimou. "I will call this new creation, Curse of You Dumbass Stooges Watching the Olympics on Television and Believing this Crap."

Well, I'm not entirely clear on that. I mean, a lot of the world was concerned when di-ethelyne glycol started showing up in Chinese manufactured toothpaste, etc., and started killing people around the world by the dozen.

Now it was great that the Chinese officials identified Zheng Xiaoyu's role as the corrupt head of the food & drug watchdog association in China. But while the rest of the world was expecting some sort of due process, legal proceedings, etc., most of the world was shocked that as soon as he was fingerpointed only hours later we learned that he was executed.

To the rest of the world, that might have ultimately been someone who was very, very guilty for crimes that killed a lot of innocent people around the world. But the shock of receiving the immediate news that, "Oh, we found who was responsible and executed him" was pretty barbaric and shocking for the rest of the world -- for how quickly that was decided and without any visible due process.

Not suggesting that Zheng Xiaoyu wasn't guilty. But to the outside world, it sounds like the guy was simply executed before he even had a chance to defend himself.

this is just make me laugh. just see the quotation parts of where most of information of this article came from, still, it came from the media which you claimed that you had no trust in them. it isn't worth a read

but some interesting findings. a genocide is a severe crime, and each crime has its standards. in this article we can read that the us government and congress claimed that it was a genocide and that it was. so, I want to ask who gave the rights to the us government and the us congress to set the standards to define whether its a genocide or not

The citations are the bottom of each page. They come from official sources.

And if you take a look at the last page you'll find the people involved with the Sudanese Divestment Group.

And guess what...

THEY ARE ALL CHINESE!

Glad to see not every Chinamen is as brainwashed as you are.

Ummmm, they can read?

genocide |ˈjenəˌsīd|
noun
the deliberate killing of a large group of people, esp. those of a particular ethnic group or nation.

I wan't sure, but they are killing all of one group, and they are all in the SAME NATION.

It must hurt a lot for AlexTheGreat though. All his life he's been lied to, and now he sees that a few of his countrymen are trying to destroy some of his own investments that solely rest in the blood of innocent people in Darfur.

The fact that this divestment group is practically all Chinese is very, very telling.

the quotation from the Chinese website just some pointless finance report, and I really appreciate the ability of ur media of building up a connection between an alleged genocid and a finance report
