That's a factor but not entirely. Plenty of people speak Spanish in the world and it doesn help. It's because Anglos, being the devious soulless snakes they are, allowed a big number of their clubs to be sold to foreign billionaires who raise attention by buying expensive players and since everything is so random and teams are too stupid to dominate they call it 'competitive'. Admttedly EPL production value is also vastly superior to Serie A.
Which is great for poor Deano who is shilling EPL from the pub as he is priced out of the stadium.
Agreed, it’s not the only part of it, but it helps a lot in places like North America, and also in Asia where English is really the common language between nations. And EPL has marketed itself very heavily and effectively in those places, even with a dearth of Ballon d’Or level players that are the face of the game since Ronaldo left over a decade ago.
It’s quite hilarious to see the English shilling for the competitive spirit and the fans and local when they’ve left half their teams be bought by rich foreign owners
Ironically, they now asking for some of those owners who built the league into the financial powerhouse it is to be kicked out now. Lol

What does language really have anything to do with sport? Who gives a shit what language Pele spoke?
Agree entirely. But I doubt the average casual fan in North America and Asia thinks that way. Language helps in marketing of teams, of players, everything really.
