No comment about Dortmund from me for obvious reasons

however, has Bayern released an official statement?

Either way, they may be taking the pragmatic approach of waiting a year or two before formally joining unless they go the qualifying route

Also, BuLi cannot be compared to other leagues like Serie A and La Liga. Both of which are highly toxic. Serie A compounds it with its pre-war mentality, bureaucracy, pettiness, and lack of desire to modernize let alone innovate. Instead Italy kicks, maims Juventus who are the primary reason the league sees any revenue for sharing. Completely different story in BuLi imo.

What is the Champions League reform that is going on? And why are they doing it? Is it because of stagnation? Or because they want to pump in more money?

The two strongest teams are not joining, Bayern and PSG. Add to that the fact that there are several Europa League level teams in this so called "Super" League, like Arsenal, Tottenham, Milan and maybe even us if the Project keeps going.

I can actually see some chance this falls through if the Premier League plays hard ball and the English teams get cold feet and back out.

Nothing official from Bayern Munich as of yet.

I'm thinking the same as you.

doesn't change anything for us fans, still losers
Real, Barca and PL teams will still earn more, so it changes nothing
We definitely close the gap though. We are light years behind them financially right now but this new SL will see our revenue go up tremendously. There is a reason why Agnelli has been pushing for this so hard.

Also, for us its probably the only way to grow financially, we have probably reached our limit in current setup with serie A and CL.
100% correct. And Agnelli has been banging this drum for almost a decade. He knows we cannot possibly grow more with the current state of Serie A, and plans to modernise this league and drag it into the 21st century have been constantly rejected and rebuffed by the other peasant dinosaurs running the league and federation.

How much will the teams that qualify get? I assume this guaranteed spot in won't last though.
It's the guaranteed spot that is appealing to all the clubs that founding this league. They no longer have to worry about the uncertainty about qualifying for the CL to make guaranteed money. I'm sure the Founding Fathers will fight tooth and nail to keep it that way.
(For this to be really successful, they will have to play weekend games.)

It will close the gap if it replaces all other competitions. If it's on top of everything, we'll still be dirt poor compared to EPL teams.

Why is it silly to compare them? Isn't the whole idea behind anti-ESL that the historically big clubs shouldn't be guaranteed money? My point is they already are guaranteed all the money, Milan can fuck around and drop the ball for a decade and it's still in Serie A TOP3 when it comes to revenue, the current system governed by UEFA is no better than the ESL when it comes to income parity, Champions League doesn't pay nearly enough.
Beacuse Milan would jump on 200mln wage bill and Atalanta would go back to 25mln, or hell, even stay on 40.

Just because gap exists by default doesn't mean it wouldn't increase 2-3 times.

Real wins it two time in a row to make close to a billion dollars and suddenly we are way behind again
